TH Motorsport
TH Motorsport is a British motorsports team based in Watford. It was founded in 1997 by Trevor Humphrey. Initially entering in various one make national series and Rally events, the team is best known for competing in the British Touring Car Championship and Britcar Championship. BTCC Proton Satria GTI (2001) TH Motorsport first entered the BTCC in 2001. Steve Wood drove a team-built Production Class Proton Satria GTI, in selected rounds. Mitsubishi Carisma (2002) In 2002, Wood switched to a Mitsubishi Carisma, again just competing in selected rounds. Honda Civic (2004) The team managed John George's 2004 BTCC campaign with a Mardi Gras Motorsport run LPG-powered Honda Civic. Britcar
Britcar is an endurance sports car racing and touring car racing series in the United Kingdom. It was formed in 1997, as a result of a discussion in a Nürburgring bar between Willie Moore and James Tucker. Folklore has it that James Tucker and John Veness formed the organizing European Endurance & Racing Club (EERC) with a £10 note found on the ground. The foremost aim was the re-introduction of a 24-hour race in Britain. At the end of the 2015 season, James sold the Britcar rights to Hedley Cowell Events Ltd. For the 2016 season, Claire Hedley re-launched Britcar Endurance as the Dunlop Endurance Championship and Dunlop Trophy Championship. For 2020 the series was invited to support the FIA World Endurance Championship races at Spa-Francorchamps and Silverstone. Next Generation Touring Car, also known as NGTC and by its Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) designation TCN-1, is an FIA and TOCA specification and classification for production based race cars. The specification covers national level touring car racing. The goal of the limited choices in engines and parts in the NGTC classification is to allow more manufacturers and privateers to race by reducing the cost of a competitive car and to reduce reliance on the increasingly expensive Super 2000 equipment. The only significant differences between different models is the external body shells and the use of front- or rear-wheel drive; the suspension, brakes and transmissions are common to all cars, and engines are of uniform performance. The 2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship was a multi-event motor racing championship for production-based touring cars held across England and Scotland. The championship features a mix of professional motor racing teams and privately funded amateur drivers competing in highly modified versions of family cars which are sold to the general public and conform to the technical regulations for the championship. Matt Hamilton (racing Driver)
Matthew Hamilton (born 2 February 1990 in Hemel Hempstead) is a British racing driver. He is best known for competing in the British Touring Car Championship. Racing career Hamilton raced in karting between 1999 and 2005. In 2005 he won a Formula BMW scholarship, which gave him entry to the 2006 Formula BMW UK season. He raced in Formula Palmer Audi in 2007. He won the opening race of the season at Silverstone, and was on pole position for the second. A fast-changing red starting light left Hamilton stranded on the startline. He was hit by several unsighted drivers and was spun around; it was then hit broadside at full racing speed by a car from the back of the grid. 2009 British Touring Car Championship Season
The 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship season was the 52nd British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season. It began at Brands Hatch on the Indy layout on 5 April and finished after 30 races over 10 events on the Grand Prix layout at Brands Hatch on 4 October. Colin Turkington won the championship for the first time, ahead of Jason Plato and Fabrizio Giovanardi. The season also saw Airwaves BMW score their first win in the series when Rob Collard won the second race of the day at the opening meeting at Brands Hatch. The team seemed to have added a second win in race three as Jonathan Adam crossed the line first but he was demoted to second after making contact with Jason Plato handing Plato the win. David Pinkney is a British businessman and auto racing driver. He competed in the British Touring Car Championship on and off between 1989 and 2011. Racing career James Weaver talked David into racing and he started out in the Uniroyal Saloon Car Championship in 1987 with a £5000 Rover Vitess SD1 racing against the new Sierra Cosworths- in 1988 he raced a Cosworth Sierra in the production saloon championship- then moved on to the BTCC in 1989 with a troubled RS500 prepared by Terry Drury, then three more years in a Cosworth Saphire - Moving back to the BTCC in a Prodrive BMW in 1993. Darren Turner (born 13 April 1974) is a British professional racing driver and owner of Base Performance Simulators. He races for Aston Martin Racing as a factory driver and also works as a high performance test driver for Aston Martin. He was McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year in 1996. He is a former test driver for the McLaren Formula One team, but has raced primarily in touring cars and sportscars since 2000. Brands Hatch is a motor racing circuit in West Kingsdown, Kent, England, United Kingdom. Originally used as a grasstrack motorcycle circuit on farmland, it hosted 12 runnings of the British Grand Prix between 1964 and 1986 and currently hosts many British and International racing events.
