''TG5'' (''TeleGiornale 5'') is a news programme on the Italian TV channel Canale 5, part of the Mediaset network and owned by MFE - MediaForEurope. It is broadcast domestically on Canale 5 and Mediaset TGcom24 several times a day. The rating for the programme´s 08:00 PM edition, are among the highest for Italian commercial TV. The programme is broadcast from Rome. The editor-in-chief is Clemente Mimun. Programme format The roots of the programme go back to 1980 on Canale 5, with a programme covering Lombardy called ''Video 5''. In 1983 it was replaced by ''Canale 5 News''. Enrico Mentana
Enrico Mentana (born 15 January 1955) is an Italian journalist and television presenter. He founded the Italian news program '' TG5'' and directed it from 1992 to 2004. In 2005, as Canale 5's editorial director, he conceived and curated the talk show Matrix until his resignation in 2009 due to a disagreement with the network. From June 2010 he is the director of the news program TG La7. He is also the director of the online newspaper ''Open'', which he founded in December 2018. Early life Enrico Mentana was born in Milan on 15 January 1955. He is the eldest son of Franco Mentana, well-known correspondent of La Gazzetta dello Sport and native of Bova, and Lella, of Jewish origins. He was baptized as a Catholic, although he will always show great closeness to the Jewish people. Cristina Parodi
Cristina Parodi (born 3 November 1964) is an Italian journalist and television host. Biography She debuted in the 80's in the small TV channels TelePiccolo and Telereporter and after in Odeon TV, hosting some sports shows like ''Caccia al 13'' and ''Forza Italia''. In 1990 moved to Fininvest joining the sports news editor, presenting ''Calciomania'' with Maurizio Mosca, and working as correspondent in ''Pressing''. From 1991, when started the Gulf War, she switched to the news entourage, and from autumn 1991 started presenting ''Canale 5 News'', the first Canale 5's news program. From January 1992 she became, with the director Enrico Mentana, Lamberto Sposini and Cesara Buonamici, one of the most important TG5's anchorwoman. Emilio Carelli (born 21 May 1952) is an Italian journalist and politician, member of the Chamber of Deputies for the Five Star Movement, since 24 March 2018 until 2 February 2021. Early life Emilio Carelli was born in Crema, near Cremona in Lombardy, in 1952, from a middle-class family. After attending the classical lyceum, he graduated in literature in 1975 at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, and later became a professional journalist after completing his studies in the United States. Canale 5 () is an Italian free-to-air television channel of Mediaset, owned by MFE - MediaForEurope. It was the first private television network to have a national coverage in Italy in 1980. On 4 December 2012, Mediaset launched Canale 5 HD, a simulcast of Canale 5 in high-definition. Since January 2013, Canale 5 has been directed by Giancarlo Scheri. Lamberto Sposini
Lamberto Sposini (born 1952) is an Italian journalist and television presenter. Born in Foligno, Sposini started his career as a journalist for the newspaper Paese Sera, then in 1978 he became a collaborator of RAI TV, working as a redactor, a correspondent and as a news speaker of TG1. In 1991 he moved to Mediaset, where he co-founded the TG5 and became one of its news speaker. After a short comeback at TG1 which he left in 2006 as a result of the disagreements with the new editor in chief Carlo Rossella, in 2008 he became the presenter of ''La Vita in diretta'', a Rai 1 television program broadcast in the afternoon. Mass is an intrinsic property of a body. It was traditionally believed to be related to the quantity of matter in a physical body, until the discovery of the atom and particle physics.
