TC Old Boys
Basler Sportclub Old Boys, commonly known as BSC Old Boys, Old Boys Basel or simply Old Boys or when written just OB, is a Swiss sports club based in Basel, Switzerland. The club is mainly known for its football but it also has track, swimming and tennis sections. The association's colors are yellow and black. The team set to play in 1. Liga Classic from 2025–26, the fourth tier of Swiss football after promotion from 2. Liga Interregional in 2024–25. History In 1876, the gymnastics teacher at the then secondary school, Adolf Glaz, founded the RTV/Realschüler-Turnverein (secondary school student gymnastics club). In 1893 he introduced his students to the new football game. From then some members of the club met regularly during the summer and autumn holidays and the RTV had a football team. Massimo Ceccaroni
Massimo Ceccaroni (born 15 August 1968) is a Swiss former professional footballer who played as a defender or midfielder. He played for FC Basel for very nearly his entire career. He was later trainer at amateur club BSC Old Boys and then trainer of the Basel U21 team. Between 2012 and 2020 he was technical manager of the youth department. Since 2017 he is on Board of Directors of the FCB Holding AG and since January 2020 general manager sports project India, Chennai City FC - FC Basel. Career Active football In 1977, Ceccaroni joined FC Basel's youth squad and advanced to their first team for their 1987–88 season signing his first professional contract under head-coach Urs Siegenthaler. Swiss Challenge League
The Challenge League (known as the Dieci Challenge League for sponsorship reasons) is the second-highest tier of the Swiss football league system and lower of two professional leagues in the country. Ten teams play in the Challenge League; the winners of the league are promoted to the Swiss Super League, Super League, while the bottom-placed team is relegated to the Promotion League. Overview The Challenge League is played over 36 rounds from the end of July to May, with a winter break from mid-December to the first week of February. Each team plays each other four times, twice at home and twice away, in a Round-robin tournament, round-robin.
