TCL NXTPAPER
TCL NXTPAPER is a display technology developed by TCL Corporation that attempts to replicate the experience of reading on paper to improve eye comfort. TCL claims that the NXTPAPER technology reduces blue light emissions, which are often linked to digital eye strain Eye strain, also medically termed as asthenopia (), is a common eye condition characterized by nonspecific symptom, non-specific symptoms such as fatigue, pain in or around the eyes, blurred vision, headache, and occasional diplopia, double vis ... and sleep disturbances. It also includes anti-glare properties, designed to make screen reading more akin to reading paper, further reducing strain on the eyes. TCL has implemented NXTPAPER technology in various products, including tablets and smartphones. Devices featuring NXTPAPER displays include the TCL NXTPAPER 10s and TCL's 40 NXTPAPER series smartphones. References Chinese brands Computer display standards LCD brand names {{mobile-tech-stub ...

Display Technology
A display device is an output device for presentation of information in visual or tactile form (the latter used for example in tactile electronic displays for blind people). When the input information that is supplied has an electrical signal the display is called an '' electronic display''. Common applications for ''electronic visual displays'' are television sets or computer monitors. Types of electronic displays In use These are the technologies used to create the various displays in use today. * Liquid-crystal display (LCD) ** Light-emitting diode (LED) backlit LCD ** Thin-film transistor (TFT) LCD ** Quantum dot (QLED) display * Light-emitting diode (LED) display ** OLED display ** AMOLED display ** Super AMOLED display Segment displays Some displays can show only digits or alphanumeric characters. They are called segment displays, because they are composed of several segments that switch on and off to give appearance of desired glyph. The segments are ...

Eye Strain
Eye strain, also medically termed as asthenopia (), is a common eye condition characterized by nonspecific symptom, non-specific symptoms such as fatigue, pain in or around the eyes, blurred vision, headache, and occasional diplopia, double vision. These symptoms tend to arise after long-term use of Computer, computers, staring at phone screens, digital devices, reading, or other activities that involve extended visual tasks. Various causes contribute to eye strain, including uncorrected vision problems, digital device usage, environmental factors, and underlying health conditions. When concentrating on a visually intense task, such as continuously focusing on a book or computer monitor, the ciliary muscles and the extraocular muscles are Strain (injury), strained, also contributing to the symptoms. These symptoms are broadly classified into external (related to the ocular surface) and internal symptom factors (related to eye muscles). Treatment involves environmental modific ...

Sleep Disturbances
Sleep is a state of reduced mental and physical activity in which consciousness is altered and certain sensory activity is inhibited. During sleep, there is a marked decrease in muscle activity and interactions with the surrounding environment. While sleep differs from wakefulness in terms of the ability to react to stimuli, it still involves active brain patterns, making it more reactive than a coma or disorders of consciousness. Sleep occurs in repeating periods, during which the body alternates between two distinct modes: rapid eye movement sleep (REM) and non-REM sleep. Although REM stands for "rapid eye movement", this mode of sleep has many other aspects, including virtual paralysis of the body. Dreams are a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. During sleep, most of the body's systems are in an anabolic state, helping to restore the immune, nervous, skeletal, and m ...

Anti-glare Screen
A glossy display is an electronic display with a glossy surface. In certain light environments, glossy displays provide better color intensity and contrast ratios than matte displays. The primary disadvantage of these displays is their tendency to reflect any external light, often resulting in an undesirable glare.Thatcher, Michelle"Counter the glare on your glossy display" '' CNET''. October 23, 2006. Retrieved December 3, 2007. Technology Some LCDs use an antireflective coating, or nanotextured glass surface, to reduce the amount of external light reflecting from the surface without affecting light emanating from the screen as an alternative to matte display."PixelBright LCDs"

Computer Display Standards
Computer display standards are a combination of aspect ratio, display size, display resolution, color depth, and refresh rate. They are associated with specific expansion cards, video connectors, and monitors. History Various computer display standards or display modes have been used in the history of the personal computer. They are often a combination of aspect ratio (specified as width-to-height ratio), display resolution (specified as the width and height in pixels), color depth (measured in bits per pixel), and refresh rate (expressed in hertz). Associated with the screen resolution and refresh rate is a display adapter. Earlier display adapters were simple frame-buffers, but later display standards also specified a more extensive set of display functions and software controlled interface. Beyond display modes, the VESA industry organization has defined several standards related to power management and device identification, while ergonomics standards are set by the TCO. ...
