T. A. Hughes
Thomas A. Hughes was an American politician and businessman from Arizona. He served a single term in the Arizona State House of Representatives during the 3rd Arizona State Legislature, and a single term in the Arizona State Senate during the 4th Arizona State Legislature. He owned an insurance agency in Bisbee, Arizona, and later served as an officer of the Hartford Indemnity and Insurance Company. Biography Hughes lived in Bisbee, Arizona. In 1904 he was working as a conductor on the Morenci Southern Railroad. In 1907 he opened a real estate office. In 1908 he added an insurance component to his business, the T. A. Hughes Insurance Company. Later that year, his company merged with the B. J. O'Reilly Insurance Company to form the Arizona Insurance Company. In 1909 he secured the local office in Bisbee, Arizona for the State Mutual Building and Loan Association of Los Angeles, allowing him to provide real estate loans. Arizona House Of Representatives
The Arizona State House of Representatives is the lower house of the Arizona Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Arizona. The upper house is the Senate. The House convenes in the legislative chambers at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix. Its members are elected to two-year terms, with a term limit of four consecutive terms (eight years). Each of the state's 30 legislative districts elects two state house representatives and one state senator, with each district having a population of at least 203,000. ''The Tribune'' is a daily broadsheet newspaper and news website that covers San Luis Obispo County, California. It was created in 1939 from a combination of three newspapers founded between 1869 and 1905, and was later acquired by the E. W. Scripps Company. Walter Murray led the establishment of ''The Tribune'' in the late 1860s, starting as the publication's editor and co-owner, with the first issue being printed on August 7, 1869. By 1886, the newspaper was produced above the Chicago Brewery Depot housed at the corner of Chorro and Monterey streets. In April 1939, it merged with the ''Telegram'', an anti-saloon newspaper in town, becoming the ''Telegram-Tribune''. The publication later moved from 1240 Morro Street to 1321 Johnson Avenue beginning in 1958, operating there for the next 35 years, before relocating once more to a new building, at 3825 S. The Arizona State Senate is part of the Arizona Legislature, the state legislature of the US state of Arizona. The Senate consists of 30 members each representing an average of 219,859 constituents (2009 figures). Members serve two-year terms with term limits that limit Senators to four terms for a total of eight years. Members of the Republican Party are currently the majority in the Senate. There is currently 16 women serving in the Senate after Raquel Terán was appointed, making it the first time a majority of the body was composed of female members. As with the Arizona House of Representatives, members to the Senate are elected from the same legislative districts as House members, however one Senator represents the constituency, while for the House there are two Representatives per district.
