Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski
Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, née Uznański (Polish: ; born 12 April 1984 in Łódź) is a Polish engineer working at the European Space Agency (ESA) as a project astronaut since 2023, and was formerly employed at CERN. Early life and education Uznański was born in Łódź, Polish People's Republic on 12 April, 1984 – the 23rd anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's first human orbital spaceflight. Every birthday, Uznański's mother would wish him "all the best wishes on Cosmonaut Day". Growing up in the 1980s, after Mirosław Hermaszewski's spaceflight in 1978, Uznański's childhood dream was to go to space. Sławosz Uznański was raised in Łódź, attending the 8th Adam Asnyk High School. ESA Astronaut
The European Astronaut Corps is a unit of the European Space Agency (ESA) that selects, trains, and provides astronauts as crew members on U.S. and Russian space missions. The corps has 13 active members, able to serve on the International Space Station (ISS). The European Astronaut Corps is based at the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany. Crolles
Crolles () is a commune in the Isère department in southeastern France. It is located in the Isère valley, 20 km northeast of Grenoble, upstream on the river Isère. It has given its name to the Dent de Crolles mountain (2,062 m), which stands just above the city. Industries Crolles hosts the biggest semiconductor fabrication plant in France (employing 4,000 people, for a total investment of 3 billion euros).
