Søren Westphal
Søren Westphal (born 8 July 1986) is a Danish former handballer. He retired in 2020 after having played for Danish Handball League side Aalborg Håndbold since 2014. He joined the club from KIF Kolding København. He had previously played for league rivals club GOG Svendborg, TMS Ringsted and Nordsjælland Håndbold. During his youth career, Westphal played several matches for the Danish national youth handball teams. In 2015 during a playoff match against Herning he had a cruciate ligament injury that kept him out for many months. In February 2017 he got his second concussion in the same season, when the Skjern Håndbold player Bjarte Myrhol hit him in the face during a match. He never truly recovered from the injury, and retired in 2020 as a consequence. Skjern Handball () is a team handball, handball club from Skjern, Denmark. Currently, Skjern Handball competes in the Danish Handball League, which they have won twice, in 1999 and in 2018. They have also achieved international success, by winning the EHF Challenge Cup twice, in 2002 and 2003. The home arena of Skjern Håndbold is Skjern Bank Arena. Bjarte Myrhol
Bjarte Håkon Myrhol (born 29 May 1982) is a Norwegian handball coach and former player who is currently the coach of Runar Sandefjord. Regarded as one of the best line players of his era, Myrhol won twelve titles playing for clubs in Norway, Hungary, Germany and Denmark in a career that spanned over twenty years. Myrhol made his debut for the Norwegian national team in 2002, and was the captain of the team from 2014 and until his retirement in 2021. He earned silver medals with the national team at the World Championships in 2017 and 2019, and was voted best pivot at both tournaments. Myrhol holds the record for most appearances for the Norwegian national team with 263 caps, and represented Norway at six World Championships, seven European Championships and the 2020 Summer Olympics.
