Sólo Paraíso
''Sólo Paraíso'' (subtitled ''The Summer Songs EP'') is the debut extended play by Swedish singer-songwriter Molly Nilsson, released on 28 July 2014. Production For the production of ''Sólo Paraíso'', Nilsson "took a step out of her comfort zone recording-wise", as it was written and recorded during a two-month stay in Buenos Aires in the summer of 2014. Nilsson explained: "I have a real following there and somehow, I managed to land a two-month residency, which was ideal. I needed to work somewhere that was totally unlike Berlin." As of 2023, ''Sólo Paraíso'' remains Nilsson's only release that was not recorded in her home studio in Berlin. Release The extended play was exclusively released on vinyl on 28 July 2014. Unlike Nilsson's other releases, it is not available as a digital download or on streaming platforms, as of 2023. Molly Nilsson
Molly Lilly Maria Nilsson (born 14 December 1984) is a Swedish singer-songwriter and musician. She is the owner of an independent record label, Dark Skies Association, founded in 2009. As of 2004, Nilsson resides in Berlin. Early life Nilsson is from Stockholm; she was born in Gröndal and grew up in Södermalm, in a non-musical family. Both of her parents were communists. She has described her father, a graphic designer, as her "biggest fan". In school, Nilsson had some piano lessons and a punk rock band with friends, where they "played a little bit", but mostly "just hung out". Growing up, she listened to a lot of 1970s punk from the United Kingdom. As a teenager, she sometimes worked as a DJ. She began her creative pursuits in comics and writing. ''The Travels'' is the fifth studio album by Swedish singer-songwriter Molly Nilsson, released on 21 June 2013. It was the first of her albums to be co-released by Night School Records in addition to her own label Dark Skies Association. Release ''The Travels'' was released on vinyl, CD, cassette tape, and as a digital download on 21 June 2013. A release party for the album was held at Berghain nightclub on 19 June 2013. Critical reception ''The Travels'' received positive reviews. ''Zenith'' is the sixth studio album by Swedish singer-songwriter Molly Nilsson, released on 6 November 2015. Background Nilsson considered several titles for the album before eventually settling on ''Zenith''. Regarding the title, she stated: "I like he albumas a peak, but not in the sense that whatever comes before or after is not a peak – I wanted it to be like an eternal peak." Production Nilsson had finished one iteration of the album in January 2015, but after a two-month holiday, she realized that she "had to make a new album". She then finished the second and final version of the album in June 2015, explaining that she "needed that sunlight in the album". Nilsson estimates that the final version is "probably 75% new".
