Sérgio Nascimento De Camargo
Sérgio Nascimento de Camargo (born April 15, 1965) is a Brazilian journalist and politician, affiliated with the PL. He is known for his conservative positions and for having assumed, from 2019 to 2022, the presidency of Fundação Cultural Palmares, a Brazilian body for the promotion of Afro-Brazilian culture. Camargo was discharged from his post on March 31, 2022 because he will run for a seat in the Chamber of Deputies in the 2022 Brazilian general election. Biography Sérgio is the son of the writer Oswaldo de Camargo and brother of the cultural producer and musician Oswaldo de Camargo Filho, better known as Wadico Camargo. The Liberal Party (, PL) is a far-right political party in Brazil. From its foundation in 2006 until 2019, it was called the Party of the Republic (, PR). Jair Messias Bolsonaro (; born 21 March 1955) is a Brazilian politician and former military officer who served as the 38th president of Brazil from 2019 to 2023. He previously served as a member of Brazil's Chamber of Deputies (Brazil), Chamber of Deputies from 1991 to 2019. Marielle Franco
Marielle Franco (; born Marielle Francisco da Silva, 27 July 1979 – 14 March 2018) was a Brazilian politician, sociologist, feminist, socialist and human rights activist. Franco served as a city councillor of the Municipal Chamber of Rio de Janeiro for the Socialism and Liberty Party (PSOL) from January 2017 until her assassination. On 14 March 2018, while in a car after delivering a speech in the north of Rio de Janeiro, Franco and her driver were shot multiple times and killed by two former police officers travelling in another vehicle. A ''mãe-de-santo'' or ''mãe de santo'' (, plural mães de santo ) is a Ordination of women, priestess of Candomblé, Umbanda and Quimbanda, the Afro-Brazilian religions. Those Portuguese language, Portuguese words mean literally "saint's mother", a calque of the Yoruba language, Yoruba word ''iyalorisha'', a title given to female leaders of the Yoruba religion. ''Iya'' means "mother", and the contraction ''l'orisha'' means "of orisha", adapted into Portuguese language, Portuguese as "of saint" due to the traditionally Catholic-centric culture that surrounds that language.
