Sébastien Simon (born 6 May 1990) is a French professional offshore sailor. Background He sailed throughout his youth, finishing 3rd in the 2013 420 Class World Championship. He then moved onto the French Offshore scene, winning the Solitaire du Figaro in 2018, and participated in the Vendée Globe --> The Vendée Globe is a single-handed (solo) non-stop, unassisted round the world yacht race. The race was founded by Philippe Jeantot in 1989, and since 1992 has taken place every four years. It is named after the Département of Vendé ... in 2020 on the Imoca 60 Arkea-Paprec where it retired due to foil damage. La Roche-sur-Yon () is a Communes of France, commune in the Vendée Departments of France, department in the Pays de la Loire Regions of France, region in western France. It is the capital of the department. The demonym for its inhabitants is ''Yonnais''. It is a square number, the smallest semiprime and composite number, and is considered unlucky in many East Asian cultures.
