Så Mycket Bättre (season 8)
Så mycket bättre (, ) is a Swedish reality television show broadcast on TV4. The basic premise is that each participating musician performs their own version of a well-known song by another artist, with each episode focusing on every participant performing a different song by the same artist. The musicians spend eight days together at a hotel in Gotland, where they re-interpret the songs in their own styles. The first series aired on 23 October 2010 and featured Lasse Berghagen, Barbro "Lill-Babs" Svensson, Petter, Thomas Di Leva, September, Christer Sandelin and Plura Jonsson. A second series premiered on 29 October 2011 and featured Lena Philipsson, Tomas Ledin, Eva Dahlgren, Mikael Wiehe, Timbuktu, Laleh and E-Type. A third season was launched on 27 October 2012 that included Darin Zanyar, Miss Li, Maja Ivarsson, Olle Ljungström, Magnus Uggla, Pugh Rogefeldt and Sylvia Vrethammar. Gotland
Gotland (; ; ''Gutland'' in Gutnish), also historically spelled Gottland or Gothland (), is Sweden's largest island. ''The Best Singers'', created and owned by FTV Rights B.V., is a reality television series that has been broadcast under various names in a number of European countries. The original format is produced in the Netherlands by FTV Productions B.V. and broadcast on NPO 1 by public broadcaster AVROTROS (formerly AVRO and TROS. The two broadcasters merged in 2013). ''Beste Zangers'', formerly ''De beste zangers van Nederland'' (English: ''The Best Singers (of the Netherlands)''), is a Dutch reality television show by public broadcaster AVROTROS (a merger of AVRO and TROS, both part of the Netherlands Public Broadcasting). The first series was aired between 5 July and 30 August 2009 and was hosted by Edsilia Rombley. She was first replaced by singer and actor Victor Reinier (2010, 2011) before Jan Smit became the permanent host in 2012. In each series a number of well-known performers take turns as the central artist in the hot seat that gets honoured by the other artists by singing songs that are of significance to that person. Sylvia Vrethammar
Eva Sylvia Vrethammar (born 22 August 1945) is a Swedish traditional pop and jazz singer. Vrethammar was born in Uddevalla, Sweden. She is the daughter of Harald Vrethammar, an education official, and Britta Vrethammar, a musical education teacher, specializing in the piano. In 1969, she released a Swedish-language cover version of Dusty Springfield's "Son of a Preacher Man", entitled "En lärling på våran gård". Vrethammar is also fluent in English. In the 1970s, she occasionally appeared as guest singer with the Bert Kaempfert orchestra, singing in English. After a series of tribute concerts in Germany in 2006 and 2008, where she returned to the bandleader's music with ex-Kaempfert trombonist Jiggs Whigham and other former orchestra members (playing as the HR Big Band), in 2012, she recorded numbers from the tours. Anders Sture Torbjörn "Pugh" Rogefeldt (, ; 2 March 1947 – 1 May 2023) was a Swedish singer, musician, guitarist and songwriter. Musical career Rogefeldt made his breakthrough in the late 1960s with albums such as ''Ja, dä ä dä'' and ''Pughish''. Unlike most other Swedish pop musicians who wanted to achieve international success, he sang in Swedish language, Swedish. One song which is commonly associated with Rogefeldt is "Små lätta moln". Magnus Uggla
Per Allan Magnus Claësson Uggla (pronounced ; born 18 June 1954) is a Swedish entertainer, composer, actor, and occasional radio host. He is known for his satirical lyrics. Uggla was born in Stockholm. He was the lead singer of the hard rock band JUSO (later renamed Alexander Lucas) before going solo in the early 1970s. Their influences were Black Sabbath, The Groundhogs and Alice Cooper, among others. Uggla's first two glam- and art rock-inspired albums '' Om Bobbo Viking'' and '' Livets teater''ˈ did not sell well, the first only about 500 copies in Sweden and ''Livets teater'' even less. Olle Ljungström
Lars Olof "Olle" Gustaf Ljungström (12 August 1961 – 4 May 2016) was a Swedish singer, songwriter, and musician. Ljungström grew up in Vaxholm. He was vocalist and guitarist in the group Reeperbahn from 1979 to 1984; since the early 1990s he performed solo. Reeperbahn Ljungström began his musical career as vocalist and guitarist in the Swedish rock group Reeperbahn. The group, which initially also consisted of Dan Sundquist (bass), Eddie Sjöberg (guitar) and Peter Korhonen (drums), made their self-titled debut album in 1979. On their first LP, Reeperbahn used both Swedish and English lyrics, but later on settled for only Swedish songs. Maja Ivarsson
Maja Ivarsson (; born 2 October 1979) is a Swedish singer and lead vocalist of the Swedish indie rock band the Sounds. Career The Sounds formed in 1998 in Helsingborg, by childhood friends guitarist and vocalist Felix Rodriguez and bassist Johan Bengtsson, who later invited drummer Fredrik Nilsson on board. Maja Ivarsson met the group in high school when the guitarist Felix Rodriguez ended up in the same class. Due to Maja singing at school and her striking appearance Felix then proceeded to invite Maja to join the group under the condition that she would have to sing. Although Maja wasn't keen on singing, she decided to join the band. The last and youngest member to join the band was Jesper Anderberg.
