Ratata (band)
Ratata was a Swedish pop band formed in Stockholm in 1980. It functioned as a four-piece until 1983, when it was restructured. Johan Ekelund, having played with the band briefly, accepted an invitation and continued with Scocco as a duo until 1989. The duo had a brief comeback in 2002. History Mauro Scocco formed the pop group Ratata in 1980 along with a number of classmates while he was still in school: Heinz Liljedahl, Anders Skog and Johan Kling. The name was chosen since it alluded to machine gun fire, being Swedish for "rat-tat-tat". The first single was "För varje dag" (''"For each day"'') in 1981 was followed by a second single "Ögon av is". Both appeared on their self-titled 1982 debut album ''Ratata''. Soon followed ''Jackie'', their second album, including the title track single. When Kling left in 1982, bass player and keyboardist Johan Ekelund joined in. Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad (born 15 November 1945), also known simply as Frida, is a Swedish singer who is best known as one of the founding members and lead singers of the pop band ABBA. Courtesy titles ''Principality of Reuss-Gera, Princess Reuss'' and ''Countess of Plauen'' are also in use because of her third marriage. Born in Bjørkåsen (in Ballangen Municipality), Norway, to a Norwegian mother and a German father, she grew up in Torshälla, Sweden, and started her first solo career there, as a jazz singer in 1967, through a talent competition called ''New Faces''. Änglamark
"Änglamark" is a Swedish song composed and written by Evert Taube for the movie The Apple War (Äppelkriget) in 1971. The song is sung in the movie's opening and ending credits by the composer's son, Sven-Bertil Taube. Instrumental variations of the song are used as a leitmotif throughout the movie. The original recording by Sven-Bertil Taube was on the Svensktoppen "Top 10" for 16 weeks in 1972. In 2021, the song charted at number 18 on Sverigetopplistan's Heatseeker chart. Covers Since 1972 over 40 cover versions of the song have been recorded. Paul Britten Austin translated the lyrics into English and this version, "Where Angels Tread", was recorded by Roger Whittaker in 1972. It was formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and has been known by its current name since October 2007. Mauro Scocco
Mauro Scocco (born 11 September 1962) is a Swedish pop musician of Italian descent. He has been described as "one of the sharpest songwriters in Sweden". Scocco was the singer for the pop group Ratata (1980–83) transformed into a duo with Johan Ekelund (1983–89). After Ratata, Scocco has continued as a solo artist since.
