Sattler's Layer
Sattler's layer, named after Hubert Sattler, an Austrian ophthalmologist, is one of five (or six) layers of medium-diameter blood vessels of the choroid, and a layer of the eye. It is situated between the Bruch's membrane, choriocapillaris below, and the Haller's layer and suprachoroidea above, respectively. The origin seems to be related to a continuous differentiation throughout the growth of the tissue and even further differentiation during adulthood. Sattler's was a regional department store chain headquartered at 998 Broadway, Buffalo, New York, two miles (3 km) from the downtown core. They pioneered "bargain basement" retailing in the Buffalo area. Sattler's was founded in 1889 by 17-year-old John G. Sattler Airfield
Sattler Airfield is an abandoned airfield in the Northern Territory of Australia that was constructed to the south of Darwin during World War II in what is now the locality of Bees Creek. It was named after Flight Lieutenant Geoffrey Sattler, the commander of a Lockheed Hudson A16-7, who died on 12 January 1942 at Keema Bay, North Celebes with the rest of his crew. On 2 April 1942, the then new Sattler RAAF airfield was bombed by the Japanese Imperial Forces. There was minimal damage. There were no Allied planes at the base as it was still under construction. Warren Sattler
Warren Sattler (born September 7, 1934) is an American artist and cartoonist, who contributed work to many popular publications from the early 1960s through the 1990s. Biography A lifelong Connecticut resident, Warren Sattler started cartooning at an early age and was first published in a newspaper at age 15. He got his education at the Wilcox Technical School in Meriden, Connecticut. He later taught at the Famous Artists School from 1957 to 1962. In the 1960s, he assisted on the comic strips '' Barnaby'' and '' The Jackson Twins''. Sattler also drew comics that appeared in ''Help'' magazine under the direction of Harvey Kurtzman. Sattler is a professor of computer science in the information management group of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Manchester and a visiting professor at the University of Oslo. Education Sattler completed her PhD in 1998 under the supervision of Franz Baader at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. Career and research Sattler moved to the University of Manchester as senior lecturer in 2003, was promoted to reader in 2006 and then to professor in 2007. Sattler's research focuses on logic to support knowledge representation including description logic, Dynamic logic and Modal logic. She is also investigating the inference problems, complexity theory and decision procedures associated with knowledge representation. This research has been important in the development of the Web Ontology Language (OWL) and its use in bioinformatics and molecular biology. He is considered one of the most significant contributors to the field of plant morphology and "one of the foremost plant morphologists in the world."
