Base Aérea de São Paulo – BASP is a Military base, base of the Brazilian Air Force, located in Guarulhos, Brazil. It shares some facilities with São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport, Gov. André Franco Montoro International Airport. History São Paulo Air Force Base was created on 22 May 1941 by Decree 3,302 at Campo de Marte Airport. On 26 January 1945 the base was transferred to its present location, then called Cumbica Farm. Units Since January 2017 there are no permanent flying units assigned to São Paulo Air Force Base. Whenever needed, the aerodrome is used as a support facility to other air units of the Brazilian Air Force, Navy and Army. Guarulhos () is a Brazilian municipality. Campo De Marte Airport
Campo de Marte Airport is the first airport built in São Paulo, Brazil, opened in 1929. It is named after Champ de Mars, in Paris, which in turn got its name from Campus Martius, in Rome. During a transitional period, the airport is jointly operated by Infraero and XP Inc. History Campo de Marte was the first airport built in São Paulo, officially opened on July 26, 1929. The airport was bombarded during the 1932 Constitutionalist Revolution. On 12 November 1933 a ceremony marking the start-up of scheduled flights of VASP took place at the airport. Santa Cruz Air Force Base – ALA12 is a base of the Brazilian Air Force, located in the district of Santa Cruz in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. History The base was originally called Bartolomeu de Gusmão Airport and it was constructed to handle the operations with the rigid airships '' Graf Zeppelin'' and '' Hindenburg''. Between 1931 and 1937, Deutsche Luft Hansa had regular flights between Germany and Brazil, with Rio de Janeiro as final stop.
