Situ () is one of the more common surviving Chinese compound surnames. It is also spelled in Wade–Giles as Ssŭtu or in the Mathews system as Szŭtu, and romanised from Cantonese as Szeto, Seto, or Sitou, or from Taishanese as Soohoo or Soho. It originates from the ancient Chinese title Situ, which can be translated as "Minister over the Masses". The surname is common in Guangdong province, particularly around Kaiping. Chikan, Kaiping
Chikan () is a town in Kaiping (), Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, China. It is officially designated as a ''National Historic and Cultural Town of China'' (). Historically it was a regional maritime hub, center for emigration, emigrant market town, and the administrative centre of Kaiping. History Chikan town was founded in the year 1649 and was originally part of Xinhui District, Xinhui County. Due to it being surrounded by the Tan River on all sides, it thrived in waterway transport. According to the 1991 town chronicle, a pier was present by the year 1676. Maria Jessica Aspiras Soho (; born March 27, 1964) is a Filipino broadcast journalist affiliated with GMA Network. She is the host of the news magazine program ''Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho'' on GMA, and was the news anchor for '' State of the Nation'' on GMA News TV (now GTV) from 2011 to 2021. Sitoh Yih Pin ( zh, s=司徒宇斌, p=Sītú Yǔbīn; born 2 December 1963) is a Singaporean retired politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing Potong Pasir SMC since 2011. Seetoh Kok Fye (born 1962), better known as KF Seetoh, is a Singaporean food critic and photographer. The fourth of five children, Seetoh attended St. Joseph's Institution and the Baharuddin Vocational Institute. Da-Hong Seetoo (; born September 29, 1960) is a classical record producer, recording engineer, and Violinist. He has worked for the German classical record label, Deutsche Grammophon, and has recorded artists such as the Emerson String Quartet, Daniel Barenboim, Gil Shaham, David Finckel, Wu Han, and numerous others. Dixon Seeto
Dixon Raphael Seeto (; 14 July 1951 – 19 July 2019) was a Fijian businessman and political leader of Chinese descent. He was President of the Fiji Islands Hotel and Tourism Association and of the Chinese Association of Fiji. In June 2006 he was appointed to the Fijian Senate as one of 9 nominees of the Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase. On completing his secondary education in 1969, Seeto worked initially for Fiji Airways and later for Tapa International together with David Wilson and the Warwick Hotel. From 1971 to 1974, he was employed by British Airways while studying aviation in London, on a scholarship. Upon graduating, he joined Fiji Airways, where he remained until 1987. Szeto Wah (; 28 February 1931 – 2 January 2011) was a Hong Kong democracy activist and politician. He was the founding chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, the Hong Kong Professional Teachers' Union and former member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong from 1985 to 1997 and from 1997 to 2004. Situ Huimin (; 16 February 1910 – 4 April 1987), was a Chinese film director, screenwriter and actor, born in Kaiping, Guangdong.
