The Szeged Transport Ltd. () is the name of the transport company of the city of Szeged, Hungary. Aims The Szeged Transport Ltd.'s aims are: the operation of electric track-based transport, a public pay parking system, vehicle rescue and transport, and parking. Brief history The Szeged Transport Ltd. was established in 1885. The first tramways were launched on October 1, 1908. After the First World War the tramway transport, both the public transport from 1920, and the freight transport from 1925, declined steadily in Szeged. No major operations or clashes occurred in Szeged during World War II, therefore the tram network was not damaged. The importance of the freight transport continued to decline in the 1950s, and in 1971 it ceased to exist. On April 29, 1979 first trolleybus started service on line 5, linking Újszged, city centre and Bartók square. The University of Szeged () is a Public university, public research university in Szeged, Hungary. Established as the Jesuit Academy of Kolozsvár in present-day Cluj-Napoca in 1581, the institution was re-established as a university in 1872 by Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria, Franz Joseph I. The university relocated to Szeged in 1921, making it one of the oldest research universities in Hungary. It went through numerous changes throughout the 20th century and was eventually divided into distinct independent universities. The Škoda 14Tr is a Czech Republic, Czech trolleybus that was produced from 1981 to 1998. Prototypes were built in 1972 and 1974. After the unsuccessful attempt to merge the Karosa ŠM 11 bus and the Škoda T 11 trolleybus and the cancelled Škoda 13Tr project, a new style of trolleybus was designed in the early 1970s, designated the 14Tr. Development was halted because of plans to replace trolleybuses by diesel engine, diesel buses, but the 1973 oil crisis led to a re-evaluation and work on the 14Tr resumed. The Škoda 14Tr trolleybus, at least in the former Soviet Union, USSR, became the successor to the Škoda 9Tr (the 10Tr and 13Tr models remained in the projects, 11Tr was released only in single copies, and the Škoda 12Tr was called the trolleybus train of the two Škoda 9Tr trolleybuses). Tatra KT4
Tatra KT4 is the name of a GT4 (tram), four-axle type articulated tramcar developed by the Czech firm ČKD Tatra. The first pre-production vehicles entered service in Potsdam in 1975, with the first production vehicles in 1977. A total of 1,747 units were built, with initial deliveries to DDR (state), East Germany (DDR) and later to USSR, the USSR and SFR Yugoslavia. KT4 variants were built for both standard gauge and metre gauge tramways. Production of the KT4 tramcar was halted in 1991 due to Fall of communism, worldwide economic and political changes at the time.
