Syrian FA Shield
The Syrian FA Shield is a men's football (soccer) competition played since its inauguration in 2024. It is generally played before the start of the domestic league season, featuring all the clubs from that season. The first official edition of the Syrian Federation Shield Championship took place in the 2024–25 season with 12 clubs taking part. Created by the Syrian Football Federation, its matches were played from 23 September 2024 until 11 October 2024. Participating clubs played in a direct knockout format with 8 teams entering in the first round and the four winning teams being joined by the 4 additional teams in the second round. Syrian Football Federation
The Syrian Arab Football Association (SFA; ) is the governing body of football in Syria, controlling the Syrian national teams, the Syrian Premier League, and other domestic competitions. The SFA was founded in 1936 and has been a member of FIFA since 1937, the Asian Football Confederation since 1970, and the Sub-confederation regional body West Asian Football Federation since 2001. Syrian Premier League
The Syrian Premier League () is a professional association football league in Syria and the top division of the Syrian football league system. The league comprises 12 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Syrian League 1st Division. The Syrian Premier League was founded in 1966, unifying the local leagues that had existed previously. Seasons mostly run from August to May. The first team to win the title was Al-Ittihad Ahli in 1967, whilst Al-Jaish has the record with 17 league titles. Their closest rivals, Al-Karamah, have won the league 8 times. In the beginning, the main tournament was the first division, then the Syrian Football Association developed the competition in a historic step that allowed the participation of foreign players to turn the competition into a professional league. Syrian Cup
The Syrian Cup () is Syria's premier knockout Cup tournament in men's association football, football. It was first contested in 1959. Al-Ittihad SC Aleppo, Al-Ittihad SC have won the competition on 10 occasions. The final was first played in the 1960-61 season during the UAR era and was won by Al-Majd SC. The tournament has been held annually since then, except for the 1963, 1972, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977 seasons. The record for consecutive wins in the competition is four titles, only two teams, Al-Karamah SC, Al-Karamah and Al-Fotuwa SC, Al-Fotuwa, have achieved that. Al-Wahda SC Damascus
Al-Wahda Sports Club () is a Syrian multi-sports club based in Damascus. The club is mostly known for its football and basketball teams. The football team plays in Syria's top competition, the Syrian Premier League. Al-Wahda SC was founded in 1928 and its colours are orange and white. They play their home games at the Al-Jalaa Stadium. The club is nicknamed "The Damascene orange".
