The Syracuse Stars were an American baseball team which played one season in the American Association in . They were unrelated to the Syracuse Stars of the National League of . They were based in Syracuse, New York, and played their games at Star Park. Starting out in the minor leagues Established in as members of the New York State League, the Stars played in the original International League in and . When that league collapsed, the Stars were among several teams to join the re-formed International Association, where they played in and , winning the league in 1889. 1920 Rochester Jeffersons Season
The 1920 Rochester Jeffersons season was the franchise's inaugural season in the American Professional Football Association (APFA) and thirteenth as an American football team. The Jeffersons entered 1920 coming off a six-win, two-loss, two-tie (6–2–2) record in the New York Pro Football League (NYPFL) where it lost the championship game to the Buffalo Prospects. Several representatives from another professional football league, the Ohio League, wanted to form a new national league, and thus the APFA was created. Ownership, roster, and coaching nearly stayed the same for the 1920 season. The team opened the season with a 10–0 victory over the non-APFA All-Buffalo. The only time the Jeffersons played a game against an APFA team was week six, when they lost to the Buffalo All-Americans. Syracuse Stars (amateur Hockey)
The United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) is an American ice hockey league. Founded in 2012, the USPHL has grown to over 60 organizations from across the United States/Canada fielding teams in the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC), Premier, Elite, EHF, 18U, 16U, 15U, and High Performance youth divisions. From 2013 to 2017, USA Hockey sanctioned the Premier, Elite, Empire, Midwest, and USP3 Divisions as Junior ice hockey#Tier III, Tier III junior leagues. In 2017, the USPHL added a higher level junior league named the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) for the 2017–18 season. The NCDC was seeking free-to-play Junior ice hockey#Tier II, Tier II junior league sanctioning, but was denied by USA Hockey. The Syracuse Stars were a minor professional ice hockey team from Syracuse, New York, for ten seasons from 1930–31 to 1939–40. The Stars name had previously been used by sports teams, including several Syracuse Stars baseball teams from the 19th century. The team played at the New York State Fair Coliseum on the New York State Fairgrounds. The Stars were affiliated with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Americans. History In 1930, the Hamilton Tigers International Hockey League (IHL) franchise was purchased by Percy LeSueur and partners and transferred to Syracuse to become the Syracuse Stars.
