Synne Skouen
Synne Skouen (born 8 August 1950) is a Norwegian music writer and composer. Biography Skouen was born in Oslo. She studied at the Vienna Academy of Music with Alfred Uhl and Erwin Ratz for composition and Dieter Kaufmann and Friedrich Cerha for electronic music. She also studied with Finn Mortensen in Oslo receiving her degree in composition from the Norwegian Academy of Music in 1976. Skouen appeared in the 1966 film ''Reisen til havet'', directed by her father, Arne Skouen. She worked as a member of the experimental music theatre group "Die Fremden" in Vienna. From 1977 to 1986 she worked as editor of the contemporary music periodical ''Ballade'', and wrote as a music critic for ''Arbeiderbladet''. In 1993 Skouen became the music director for Norwegian Broadcasting's cultural channel, and in 1999 was named Head of Culture. In 2002 she served as President of the Society of Norwegian Composers. Arne Skouen
Arne Skouen (18 October 1913 – 24 May 2003) was a Norwegian journalist, author, film director and film producer. Biography Arne Skouen was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. His parents were Peder Nikolai Skouen (1883-1978) and Jenny Emanuelson (1883-1975). He graduated at Hegdehaugen School in 1933. He had three distinct career careers: journalist, author and filmmaker, partly at the same time. He was a journalist at ''Dagbladet'' from 1935 to 1941. From 1941 during World War II, Skouen was associated with the Norwegian Resistance Movement during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany. From 1943 to 1945, Skouen worked at the press office in Stockholm, London, and New York City. After the liberation of Norway at the end of World War II, he returned to ''Dagbladet'' as a columnist, serving from 1946 to 1947. He then worked at ''Verdens Gang'' from 1947 to 1957. Cecilie Løveid
Cecilie Løveid (born 21 August 1951) is a Norwegian novelist, poet, playwright, and writer of children's books. Personal life Løveid was born in Mysen to ship's captain Erik Løveid and actress Ingrid Cecilie Meyer. She had a cohabiting relationship with musician Bjørn Ianke. Career Løveid made her literary debut in 1972, with the novel ''Most''. She received the ''Gyldendal Prize'' in 2001. Løveid's first play was the one-act ''Tingene, tingene'', published in the literary magazine '' Vinduet'' in 1976. In total she has written about thirty plays, librettos or other texts for radio or stage performance. In 2013 the poem "Punishment" (''Straff'') was printed in '' Aftenposten'', as "This Week's Poem", on 8 April. In an interview with the newspaper she said that the poem is about Breivik, and that she has no opinion about the verdict of his trial—because that is outside the scope of the poem. ''Om Tilla'' (About Tilla) is a Norwegian drama film from 1963 directed by Arne Skouen. Skouen wrote the screenplay, which was based on his 1959 novel ''Bare om barn''. It contained a series of articles from the newspaper ''Verdens Gang'', in which Skouen pointed out that children with intellectual disabilities and children with behavioral difficulties did not receive sufficient financial support or professional help. ULTIMA Oslo Contemporary Music Festival is a Norwegian music festival for contemporary music. Background Ultima is Scandinavia's largest contemporary music festival, and since 1991 it has been a key arena for contemporary music and related art forms. The festival became a designated “knutepunkt” (cultural hub) in 2006 and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs and Oslo City Council.
