Sylvester Maguire
Sylvester Maguire (born 1960s) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played for Aodh Ruadh and the Donegal county team. He won the 1982 All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship with Donegal. He fell out with senior county manager Tom Conaghan during the 1980s. Brian McEniff restored him to the panel in time for the 1990 Ulster Senior Football Championship, which Donegal won. He was a panellist on the day of the 1992 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final but did not play. Aodh Ruadh CLG
Aodh Ruadh CLG is a GAA club based in the town of Ballyshannon in County Donegal. Historically one of their county's most successful GAA clubs, it has won 12 Donegal Senior Football Championship titles, and currently competes in Division 2 of the league and the Senior Championship. The club colours are green and white and it plays its home games at Fr Tierney Park. The club has a local rivalry with Réalt na Mara. History Aodh Ruadh was founded in 1909 as a football and hurling club. It is named after nobleman Hugh Roe O'Donnell (). Fr Tierney Park opened officially in 1954. Ulster Junior Hurling Championship
The Ulster Junior Hurling Championship was an annual hurling competition organised by the Ulster council. The championship forms the third-tier of Hurling for senior county teams in the province of Ulster (the Ulster Senior Hurling Championship is the first-tier trophy). It is contested by the six county teams ranked 18–23 in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. Each year, the champions are promoted to the Ulster Intermediate Hurling Championship. The Ulster Championship was an integral part of the wider All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship. The winners of the Ulster final, like their counterparts in the other provinces, are rewarded by advancing to the semi-final stage of the All-Ireland series of games. Dual player or dual star is a term used in Hiberno-English to describe someone who competes in multiple sports — for example, in Victorian Ireland, cricket and hurling. The term today in Gaelic games typically describes a male player who plays both Gaelic football and hurling or, if a female player, a player of ladies' Gaelic football and camogie. The player does not necessarily have to play at the same standard in both sports. The Donegal county football team represents Donegal in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Donegal GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Tommy Ryan (Gaelic Footballer)
Tommy Ryan(born 1967) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer. Born in Termon, County Donegal, he attended St Eunan's College. Termon has a small club, near Letterkenny, but had only been competing at junior level shortly before Ryan was picked for Donegal. Ryan was part of the team that won the 1987 All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship. He made his championship debut against Armagh in 1988. He won an Ulster MFC in 1985, an Ulster and All-Ireland Under-21 in 1987, and an Ulster SFC and All-Ireland SFC in 1992. He returned from the U.S. in 1990 and played against Armagh in the 1990 Ulster Senior Football Championship final, won by Donegal, scoring 0–1 (and — seemingly — a first-half goal, ruled out when referee Damien Campbell pulled play back).
