Sylvain Dufour
Sylvain Dufour (born 19 November 1982 in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges) is a French alpine snowboarder. He claimed two silver medals each in giant slalom and slalom at the 2009 FIS Snowboarding World Championships in Gangwon, South Korea, and later represented his nation France in two editions of the Olympic Games (2010 and 2014). Dufour currently trains for Ski Club Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines under his personal coach and mentor Christophe Guinamard. Dufour reached international headlines to his sporting career, when he first won two silver medals each behind Canada's Jasey-Jay Anderson in the men's giant slalom and Austria's Benjamin Karl in the men's slalom at the 2009 FIS Snowboarding World Championships, earning him a ticket for the French team to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Saint-Dié-des-Vosges (; german: Sankt Didel), commonly referred to as just Saint-Dié, is a commune in the Vosges department in Grand Est in northeastern France. Carezza Dolomites
The Carezza Dolomites or ''Karersee Dolomiten'' ( Tyrolean German) is a section of the Dolomites mountain range in South Tyrol, a linguistically German region in the Italian Alps. Located next to the mountains Rosengarten and Latemar, the Carezza Dolomites are very popular with vacationers and tourists. Both the German and Italian names of the area derived from that of Karersee, an alpine lake. The villages closest to the Carezza Dolomites are Welschnofen and the eponymous Karersee (which is also in Welschnofen municipality). The 2013–14 FIS Snowboard World Cup is a multi race tournament over a season for snowboarding. The World Cup was organised by the FIS which also runs world cups and championships in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, and freestyle skiing. The FIS Snowboarding World Cup consisted of the parallel slalom, snowboard cross and the halfpipe. The men's side of the world cup also consisted of a big air competition.
