Dave Syers
David Thomas Syers (born 30 November 1987) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. After playing youth football with Darlington, Syers played non-league football for Ossett Albion, Harrogate Town, Farsley Celtic and Guiseley while studying at University, before turning professional in 2010 with Bradford City. After spending two seasons with them, he moved to Doncaster Rovers in 2012. While at Doncaster he spent a loan spell with Scunthorpe United, before signing a permanent deal with the club in January 2014. After a period out with injury he moved to Rochdale in January 2016, returned to Guiseley in August, and rejoined Darlington in October, where he spent two years before signing for Farsley Celtic. Madge Syers
Florence Madeline "Madge" Syers (''née'' Cave, 16 September 1881 – 9 September 1917) was a British figure skater. She became the first woman to compete at the World Figure Skating Championships in 1902 by entering what was previously an all-male event and won the silver medal, which prompted the International Skating Union (ISU) to create a separate ladies' championship. Syers was the winner of the first two ladies' events in 1906 and 1907, and went on to become the Olympic champion at the 1908 Olympics, the first Olympic Games to include figure skating. She also competed as a pairs skater with her husband Edgar Syers, winning the bronze medal at the 1908 Olympics. Biography Syers graduated from Hopewell Valley Central High School and attended the University of New Mexico, where he acted in ''The Fantasticks''. He graduated Emerson College in 1974 in Boston. He appeared onstage in ''Under Fire'' (in New York City) and ''Godspell'' (in Boston).
