Syed Harun Alhabsyi
Syed Harun Taha Alhabsyi (born ) is a Singaporean politician appointed as the Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of National Development and Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Education. He was the first former Nominated Member of Parliament (NMP) in Singapore to enter partisan politics, joining the People's Action Party (PAP) and contesting the 2025 general election in Nee Soon GRC. He was subsequently elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Nee Soon GRC. First appointed as an NMP in 2023, he resigned before completing his term to pursue a political career, a move that drew criticism from former NMPs and observers who argued it undermined the non-partisan intent of the scheme. Carrie Tan Huimin ( zh, s=陈浍敏, p=Chén Huìmǐn; born 11 April 1982) is a Singaporean businesswoman and retired politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), she has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Nee Soon South division of Nee Soon GRC since 2020. Prior to joining politics, Tan founded Daughters of Tomorrow (DOT), an organisation which enables livelihoods and financial self-sufficiency for underprivileged women in Singapore.
