Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah (; born 27 October 1959) is a Pakistani politician who is currently serving as the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly. He has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since 29 February 2024 and previously served in this position from 2002 to May 2018 and then from August 2018 till August 2023. Early life He was born on 27 October 1959 in Khairpur District, Pakistan. Deputy Speaker Of The National Assembly Of Pakistan
The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan presides over the assembly whenever the speaker is absent or unable to perform his or her duties. The office has its roots in 1947 when the Deputy Speaker was addressed as the Deputy President of the legislative assembly. After the ratification of the 1973 Constitution of Pakistan, the office was reestablished. Previously Deputy Speaker was Qasim Suri who was elected by the National Assembly of Pakistan on 15 August 2018 along with the Speaker who is Asad Qaiser. The Sunni Ittehad Council, formed in 2009, is an alliance of Islamic political and religious parties in Pakistan which represents followers of the Barelvi (Sufi) school of Sunni Islam. The Grand Democratic Alliance ( ur, گرانڈ جمہوری اتحاد) or GDA is a political alliance in Pakistan. It was founded on 23 October 2017 as a movement against the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government in the Sindh accusing PPP regime of poor governance, facism and corruption, the alliance claiming that the people of Sindh are unhappy with the PPP government in Sindh.
