Sycco
Sasha McLeod (born August 26th 2001), known professionally as Sycco (), is an Aboriginal Australian singer-songwriter and producer from Brisbane. She was nominated for Triple J Unearthed Artist of the Year in 2020, having released the pop singles "Nicotine" and "Dribble" in the same year. Early life McLeod grew up in Brisbane, Queensland. She confirmed during a performance in Melbourne, she has a Virgo Sun, Sagittarius Moon, and Capricorn Rising. Has also developed an interest in bakeries. Career McLeod's father taught her to play the guitar at seven years old. She began making music from an early age, having created an album at the age of 15, and adopted the artist name Sycco as a reference to psychedelia. McLeod's debut single "Starboard Square" was released in August 2018. She also released "Tamed Grief" and "Peacemaker" in 2019. "Dribble" is a song by Australian singer-songwriter Sycco, released on through Wilder and Future Classic 17 July 2020 as the lead single from her debut extended play ''Sycco's First EP'' (2021). "Dribble" was written and recorded in four hours by Sycco alongside producer and musician Edward Quinn. "Dribble" received multiple accolades, placing at number 29 in Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2020 and receiving two awards at the 2021 Queensland Music Awards, for Song of the Year and Pop Song of the Year. Annika Schmarsel (born 8 July 1993) known by her stage name Alice Ivy, is an Australian electronic musician and producer. Alice Ivy was the winner of the 2016 Triple J Unearthed Listen Out competition. She has released two studio albums: '' I'm Dreaming'' (2018), and ''Don't Sleep'' (2020), which reached No. 77 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Early life Annika Schmarsel was born in 1993 to West German immigrants who settled in Geelong in 1987. Annika also has a younger brother. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
