Swiss Informatics Society
The Swiss Informatics Society (Schweizer Informatik Gesellschaft), short "SI", is a Swiss organization of computer science educators, researchers, and professionals. The Swiss Informatics Society was founded in 1983. Helmar Burkhart was the president from 1990 to 1992, Bernhard M. Hämmerli has been president from 2009 to 2014, Jürg Gutknecht was president from 2014 to 2018. Since 2020, the president is Francis Baud. SI has about 2000 members, academics in research and science and representatives from business, administration and education. It is the largest organization of IT specialists in Switzerland. A focus of SI is the exchange of IT education on university and college level and IT practice in companies. It maintains working groups, including computer science education, computer graphics and computer security.
