} ''Swimming World'' is a US-based quarterly swimming magazine that was first published in a magazine format as ''Junior Swimmer'' in January 1960. It concurrently runs online websites ''Swimming World Magazine'' and ''Swimming World News'' (known as ''SwimInfo'' prior to 2006). History In its earliest form, ''Junior Swimmer'' began as a mimeograph/newsletter published by Peter Daland in the summer of 1952. In 1960, Coach Daland passed the responsibility of the project to Albert Schoenfeld due to Daland's greater coaching demands as the swim coach at the University of Southern California and the Los Angeles Athletic Club. The January 1960 issue was the first published in a magazine format, still called ''Junior Swimmer''. The magazine then went through six title changes over the next 45 years. He is a former world record holder in both the men's 4×50 meter freestyle relay and the mixed 4×50 meter freestyle relay as well as a former American record holder in the long course 100 meter breaststroke and short course 50 meter, 100 meter, and 200 meter breaststroke events. Sarah Wellbrock (''née'' Köhler; born 20 June 1994) is a retired German swimmer, former World record holder, who won gold medal at 2019 World Championships and gold in 2017 European Swimming Championships (SC). She represented her country at the 2016 Summer Olympics. In the women's 400 metre freestyle, she finished 10th in the heats and did not qualify for the final. In the women's 800 metre freestyle, she finished in 8th place. Florian Wellbrock (born 19 August 1997) is a German competitive swimmer. He is the world record holder in the short course 1500 metre freestyle. He is an Olympic champion, multiple World Champion and European champion, in both long and short courses. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, he won gold in the 10 kilometre open water and bronze in the 1500 metre freestyle. In total, Wellbrock has won 28 medals at international competitions of which 20 are gold. Ferry Weertman (born 27 June 1992) is a Dutch former competitive swimmer who specialises in long-distance freestyle and open water events. He was the Olympic gold medalist in the 10 km open water marathon at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Career In 2014, he became the European champion in the 10 km open water event. Ranomi Kromowidjojo (; born 20 August 1990) is a retired Dutch swimmer of mixed Dutch-Javanese Surinamese origin who mainly specialises in sprint freestyle events.
