Queens Of The Stone Age
Queens of the Stone Age (commonly abbreviated as QOTSA or QotSA) is an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1996. The band was founded by vocalist and guitarist Josh Homme shortly before he returned to his native Palm Desert, California. Homme has been the only constant member throughout multiple line-up changes; since 2013, the line-up has consisted of Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen (guitar, lap steel, keyboards, percussion, backing vocals), Michael Shuman (bass, keyboards, backing vocals), Dean Fertita (keyboards, guitar, percussion, backing vocals), and Jon Theodore (drums, percussion). Formed after the dissolution of Homme's previous band Kyuss, the band originated from the spread of the Palm Desert music scene. Its self-titled debut album (1998) was recorded with Homme singing and playing all instruments except drums, which were provided by former Kyuss member Alfredo Hernández. Bassist Nick Oliveri joined the band for its accompanying tour and soon became co-lead ...

Failure (band)
Failure is an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles that was active from 1990 to 1997 and again from 2014 to the present. Failure is recognized for being one of the standouts of 1990's Space Rock, with a focus on compounded guitar effects, uncommon melodies, and an emphasis on substance over style. Failure was a lesser-recognized band who started off with their initial release ''Comfort'' presumed by many at the time as a post-grunge release. They struggled to get airplay on radio until their third album was released, ''Fantastic Planet''. The self-produced and self-mastered album (while remaining distributed through Slash Records) received little promotion but critical acclaim and began to chart on US Alt Rock radio only for the group to disband shortly after Lollapalooza 1997. After a number of side projects and further music production work the band reunited fifteen years later and toured during the 2010's and early 2020's on both past releases and new recordings. ...

Norm Block
Plexi was an American gothic noise rock band consisting of Michael Angelos (vocals, songwriting, bass), Michael Barragan (guitar, Echoplex, Moog) and Norm Block (drums, percussion). Formed in 1993, their original name was Godseed. Their sound has been compared to bands such as Bauhaus, Sonic Youth, The Cure, Bailter Space, Swervedriver, The Psychedelic Furs, My Bloody Valentine and Psi Com. Plexi's material combined a mix of detached, wry, existential, and romantic lyrics with a flamboyant blend of glam rock and artsy avant-garde textures and noise. Guitarist Michael Barragan was known for regular use of an Echoplex unit to create chaotic walls of sound. The band members were known for their decadent appearance featuring black leather garb, heavy make-up, and arcane tattoos. These traits, along with their edgy, yet radio-friendly music, made the band stand out from other groups of its era. A blurb on the band in the 1997 CD ''Spring Lineup: A Compilation Of Sub Pop's Heavy H ...

Sweet Head
"Sweet Head" is a song written by David Bowie which was recorded at Trident Studios on 11 November 1971. It took 18 years before it was eventually released and it first appeared on the Rykodisc CD release of '' Ziggy Stardust'' in 1990. Its release came as a complete surprise to even the most die-hard Bowie fans and collectors who were totally unaware of the track prior to its issue. Even co-producer Ken Scott had forgotten about its existence and admitted his utter surprise upon its release. It then appeared on the ''30th Anniversary Reissue'' bonus disc of ''Ziggy Stardust'' in 2002 and again in 2012 for the 40th Anniversary (this time with a jokey 30 second studio discussion between Bowie and the band). Though originally written for ''The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders of Mars'' (the lyrics refer to "brother Ziggy"), it was considered too provocative to be released on the original album by the A&R team at RCA. The song's lyrics contain references to the then ...
