Sweet Birds Of Youth
''Sweet Birds of Youth'' is the first solo studio album by American rock musician Richard James Simpson, released in January 2017 by Rehlein Music. It contains 18 tracks, all written by Simpson. It combines traditional songs with several short experimental pieces. The majority of the songs were produced by Simpson, with eight tracks co-produced by Dustin Boyer from the John Cale band, and some other tracks co-produced by Joe and Fitch. Boyer plays several instruments on the album, other contributors include Joey Burns from Calexico on cello, and Theodore Welch on drums. It also features Simpson's sister Jennifer singing harmony vocals. The album was recorded in Los Angeles and San Francisco. It was mastered by Geza X. Richard James Simpson
Richard James Simpson, formerly known as Richard James (born 1967), is an American singer and guitarist. He is a son of Renate Hoy, an actress born in Germany, and attorney Raymond C. Simpson. He grew up in the South Bay region of California and had an older brother Charles "Rock" Halsey who was a member of Rock Bottom & the Spys. As a teenager, Simpson was a member of Invisible Chains as a bass player. The band recorded one eponymous album but disbanded later on. In the 1990s, he fronted a band called Teardrain, which also featured Jill Emery and Mark Reback on bass and drums respectively. He released his debut solo album in 2017. It is called '' Sweet Birds of Youth'' and features eighteen songs. Dustin Boyer
Dustin Boyer is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. He is a longtime collaborator of Welsh rock musician John Cale. He also collaborated with many other artists, such as Jennifer Love Hewitt, Michelle Branch, Andrew Dorff, and Michael Landau. Career Boyer comes from El Cajon, California. He was a member of a high school ska punk group ''Turkey Mallet''. They released one album called ''Chiaroscuro'' in 1996. The band also featured his brother Trevor Boyer on drums and singer Matt Hoyt. Then he studied at CalArts. ''Deep Dream'' is the second solo studio album by American rock musician Richard James Simpson, released in April 2019 by Rehlein Music. It contains 17 songs, most of them written by Simpson with three co-written by his former Teardrain bandmate, bassist Jill Emery, and one co-written by Dustin Boyer. Two songs feature members of Simpson's 1990s band Teardrain. Most of the tracks were produced by Simpson himself, with three produced by Paul Roessler, and one by Teardrain and Jack Waterson. John Cale
John Davies Cale (born 9 March 1942) is a Welsh musician, composer, and record producer who was a founding member of the American rock band the Velvet Underground. Over his six-decade career, Cale has worked in various styles across rock, drone, classical, avant-garde and electronic music. John Cale studied music at Goldsmiths College, University of London (UoL), before relocating in 1963 to New York City's downtown music scene, where he performed as part of the Theatre of Eternal Music and formed the Velvet Underground. Joey Burns
Calexico is an American indie rock band based in Tucson, Arizona. Founded in 1996, the band's two main members, Joey Burns and John Convertino, first played together in Los Angeles as part of the group Giant Sand. They have recorded a number of albums on Quarterstick Records and City Slang, and their 2005 EP, ''In the Reins'', recorded with Iron & Wine, reached the Billboard 200 album charts. Geza Gedeon (born September 28, 1952), professionally known as Geza X, is an American producer. He was a personality in the Los Angeles punk scene in the late 1970s. He is now a producer. Early life and career Gedeon was born in Indiana and moved to California when he was a teen. Geza produced records for a number of early California punk bands including the Dead Kennedys, Germs, Redd Kross, Black Flag, The Avengers and The Weirdos. Valerie June Carter Cash (June 23, 1929 – May 15, 2003) was an American country singer and songwriter. A five-time Grammy Award–winner, she was a member of the Carter Family and the second wife of singer Johnny Cash.
