Goh Keng Swee
Goh Keng Swee (; 6 October 1918 – 14 May 2010), born Robert Goh Keng Swee, was a Singaporean politician who served as Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore between 1973 and 1985. Goh is widely recognised as one of the founding fathers of Singapore.. He was also one of the founders of the People's Action Party (PAP), which has governed the country continuously since independence. Goh was a prominent member of the country's first generation of political leaders after Singapore became independent in 1965. He served as Minister for Finance between 1959 and 1965, and again between 1967 and 1970, Minister for Interior and Defence between 1965 and 1967, Minister for Defence between 1970 and 1979 and Minister for Education between 1979 and 1985. Chin Swee Caves Temple
The Chin Swee Caves Temple ( zh, 清水岩庙) is a Chinese temple in Genting Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. It is situated in the most scenic site of Genting Highlands, on a 28-acre plot of rocky forested land donated by Genting Group founder the late Lim Goh Tong. Located 4,600 feet above sea level, the temple is about 5–10 minutes' drive down from the peak of the mountain. Within the temple is seated a statue of Master Qingshui, a Buddhist monk who has long been worshipped as a Deity in Fujian Province, China for his miraculous abilities to summon rain and subdue evil spirits. Bukit Ho Swee () is a subzone within the planning area of Bukit Merah, Singapore, as defined by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). Lim Swee Aun
Tan Sri Dr. Lim Swee Aun (; 1 September 1915 – 13 August 1977) was a Malaysian Chinese politician from the Malaysian Chinese Association, and a Cabinet member. Early life The eldest son of Lim Tee Hooi and Foong Cheong Ngan, Swee Aun was born on 1 September 1915 in Taiping, Perak and educated at the King Edward VII School (Taiping). He was a keen Rugby player and played for the school in the 1930s. Swee Aun with Yahayaudin, Sulaiman and Harun were the first to be awarded colours. College years In June 1932, Swee Aun joined the King Edward VII College of Medicine, in Singapore (subsequently merged with Raffles College to form the University of Malaya) at the age of 16 years. Chen Chong Swee
Chen Chong Swee () was a Singaporean watercolourist belonging to the pioneer generation of artists espousing the Nanyang-styled painting unique to Singapore, at the turn of the 20th century. He was also one of the first artists in Singapore to use Chinese ink painting techniques to render scenery and figurative paintings of local and Southeast Asian themes. Born in Swatow, Chen attended school at the Union High School in Swatow, China and graduated in 1929. He attended and graduated from Xinhua Academy of Fine Arts in 1931, and arrived in Singapore that same year. He taught art at various secondary schools, before becoming a lecturer of the Chinese ink painting department at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Goh Swee Swee (; born 1 June 1986) is a Singaporean footballer who plays for Hougang United in the S-League. Club career Goh started his S-league career with Gombak United but only played 1 game for the Bulls before joining Home United in 2007. At that time, the Protectors offered him a S.League contract while he was still on a Prime League contract with Gombak. He immediately repaid the favour to the Protectors by scoring a 90th-minute winner against Liaoning Guangyuan in his debut on 16 March 2007. Khoo Swee Chiow (; born November 16, 1964 in Port Dickson, Malaysia) is a Singaporean adventurer, author, consultant, and motivational speaker. Khoo is the first Southeast Asian and the fourth person in the world to complete The Explorers Grand Slam, that is, the North Pole, the South Pole, and the Seven Summits. Expeditions Khoo climbed Mount Everest in 1998 as a member of Singapore's first Mount Everest expedition. The Central Expressway (CTE) in Singapore is the major highway connecting the city centre of Singapore with the northern residential parts of the island, including Toa Payoh, Bishan and Ang Mo Kio and further onwards to the Seletar Expressway and the Tampines Expressway. Foo Swee Chin (often abbreviated FSc) (born July 27, 1977) is a Singaporean comic book artist and illustrator. She is the creator of several alternative comic books, including "A Lost Stock of Children" and "Mince," published by Neko Press, as well as "Chimney 25" and "Zeet", published by Slave Labor Graphics. FSc is also the co-creator of a Slave Labor Graphics title, "Nightmares & Fairy Tales," alongside writer Serena Valentino, illustrating issues 1–12, before stepping down in 2005.
