Swedish Death Cleaning
Swedish death cleaning is a decluttering method historically practiced in Sweden. It is a simple living practice, encouraging people to get rid of their belongings before death to spare loved ones from having manage them. As the practice has become more popular in the United States, it has received both praise and criticism, being described as morbid. The term was created in a book by Swedish author Margareta Magnusson. Decluttering means removing unnecessary items, sorting and arranging, or putting things back in place. This article deals with organizing places of residence and commercial buildings, but the principles can also be applied to other areas.
