Swedish Ski Association
The Swedish Ski Association ( sv, Svenska Skidförbundet) is a sports governing body for skiing in Sweden. It was established in Sundsvall on 11 December 1908 as the Swedish Cross-Country Skiing Association ( sv, Svenska skidlöpningsförbundet) before changing name in 1911. The headquarters were originally located in Stockholm before relocating to Falun on 3 May 2001. Their objective is to get as many people as possible to discover the joy and benefits of being active in the snow. Covering and arranging national and major international championships, youth activities, encouraging exercise, improving public health and through this making social impact. Sundsvall () is a city and the seat of Sundsvall Municipality in Västernorrland County, Sweden. It has a population of 58,807 as of 2020; more than 95,000 live in the municipal area. Carl Eric Stålberg, born 15 January 1951, is a Swedish businessman and the current Chairman of Swedbank. He graduated with a degree in business and economics. He entered the Board of the bank in 2001 and became its chairman in 2003. He also serves on the board of the Norwegian savings bank Sparebank 1. General Stig Gustaf Eugén Synnergren (25 February 1915 – 29 April 2004) was a Swedish Army officer who was the Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces from 1970 to 1978. Synnergren was a strong advocate for the conscription system and during his time as Supreme Commander the combat aircraft Saab 37 Viggen was introduced. Synnergren was famous for advancing from the rank of captain to becoming the "youngest general in the modern times" in just five years.
