The Swedish Indoor Athletics Championships () is an annual indoor track and field competition organised by the Swedish Athletics Association, which serves as the Swedish national championship for the sport. The competition started as a non–official standing jumps contest in 1960, held at the Johanneshovs Isstadion in Stockholm. Indoor Track And Field
Track and field (or athletics in British English) is a sport that includes Competition#Sports, athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. The name used in North America is derived from where the sport takes place, a running track and a grass field for the throwing and some of the jumping events. Track and field is categorized under the umbrella sport of athletics, which also includes road running, cross country running and racewalking. 3000 Metres
The 3000 metres or 3000-metre run is a track running event, also commonly known as the "3K" or "3K run", where 7.5 laps are run around an outdoor 400 m track, or 15 laps around a 200 m indoor track. It is debated whether the 3000 m should be classified as a middle-distance or long-distance event. In elite-level competition, 3000 m pace is more comparable to the pace found in the longer 5000 metres event, rather than mile pace. The men's world record performance for 3000 m equates to a pace of 58.34 seconds per 400 m, which is closer to the 60.43 seconds for 5000 m than the 55.46 seconds for the mile. However, the 3000 m does require some anaerobic conditioning, and an elite athlete needs to develop a high tolerance to lactic acid, as does the mile runner. Haparanda
Haparanda (; Meänkieli and Finnish: ''Haaparanta'', ) is a locality and the seat of Haparanda Municipality in Norrbotten County, Sweden. It is adjacent to Tornio, Finland. Haparanda has a population of 9,166 inhabitants (2024). Haparanda is located near the Sweden-Finland border, at the northerly extreme of the Swedish coastline, as well as the easternmost point in Sweden, far removed from large cities. Its summers are very warm for a coastal location so far north, and winters are normally not extremely cold in spite of the relative proximity to the Arctic Circle. Solnahallen is a 2,000-capacity indoor arena located in Stockholm, Sweden. It served as the home arena for the Solna Vikings. The music video for the song " The Final Countdown" by the band Europe was shot at Solnahallen on May 26 and 27, 1986. A helicopter view of the hall is included in the video. Solna ( or , ), also known as Solna Municipality, is a municipality in central Stockholm County, Sweden, located just north of Stockholm City Centre. Its seat is located in the town of Solna, which is a part of the Stockholm urban area. Solna is one of the wealthiest municipalities in Sweden. The municipality is part of Metropolitan Stockholm. Kombihallen
Kombihallen is an indoor arena for association football in Malmö, Sweden. The main purpose of the arena is for football training when outdoor training is discouraged due to bad weather or snowfall. The arena has an area of 4,000 Km² with artificial turf. The main playing field can be used as one big field with an area of 60 x 42 metres or three minor playing fields with 18,5 x 42 metres area. The arena is owned by Malmö Stad and is mostly used by Malmö FF as part of the club's pre-season training when cold weather conditions prevents outdoor training. Lugnet is a large sport complex located in Falun, Sweden. 58 of the Swedish Sports Confederation's 67 special sports can be practiced there. There are six full sized indoor pitches in the area where everything from dance to association football can be played or performed. Falun
Falun () is a city and the seat of Falun Municipality in Dalarna County, Sweden, with 37,291 inhabitants in 2010. It is also the capital of Dalarna County. Falun forms, together with Borlänge, a metropolitan area with just over 100,000 inhabitants. Falun was originally famous for its copper mine, and is today an important service and industrial city even though the mine is closed (since 1992). Faluån is a river, flowing through the city, separating it into two sides. Falu copper mine is located on one of the sides which during many centuries was one of Sweden's main business.
