Swedair AB was a Swedish regional airline that existed from 1935 to 1994. It was founded as Svensk Flygtjänst AB by Tor Eliasson, who was CEO until his death in 1971. The company's last managing director was Lars Svanstrom. History Crownair Swedish Ltd AB formed in 1968, state in 1969 and with Linjeflyg as half owner since 1971 bought 1975 Svensk Flygtjänst AB formed in 1935 by Tor Eliasson and then changed its name to Swedair. In 1976 the name Swedair AB was adopted. When the business was the largest in the mid-1980s, it operated 50 aircraft of various types. The target flight used MU-2 and Learjet and in Vidsel three Lansen. A Douglas DC-3 was used for the CAA's control of ILS facilities. SAS Commuter, also branded as Scandinavian Commuter, was a regional airline which operated in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. A sister company of Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), it operated various regional services on behalf of the Scandinavian flag carrier. The airline was headquartered at Copenhagen Airport, which also served as its main base. It later also operated bases at Tromsø Airport; Stockholm Arlanda Airport; Trondheim Airport, Værnes and Bergen Airport, Flesland. Established in 1984 as Commuter Operations Department, a business unit of SAS, it initially flew minor services out of Copenhagen using a fleet of nine Fokker F27 Friendships. The Cessna 404 Titan is an American twin-engined, light aircraft built by Cessna Aircraft. It was the company's largest twin piston-engined aircraft at the time of its development in the 1970s.
