Swaran Ram Darapuri
Sarwan Ram Darapuri an Indian social activist, politician and ex- IPS officer. He served as the third-highest-ranking police officer in Uttar Pradesh. Early life Darapuri was born on 16 December 1943 at Darapur village in Jalandhar District of Punjab. His father's name is Naranjan Ram. Darapuri is an Ambedkarite and also converted into Buddhism on 14 October 1995. He completed his Bachelor of Sciences from the Ramgharia College, Phagwara (Punjab) in 1964. He worked as a science lecturer in Punjab, District Organiser of National Savings Organisation (GOI), Assistant in Ministry of Finance (GOI), New Delhi and the Customs Appraiser in Customs Department (GOI) at Bombay. Civil service He is an Indian Police Services officer from 1972 batch of Uttar Pradesh. He became Inspector General of Police in Uttar Pradesh. Swaran Lata (), (), 20 December 1924 – 8 February 2008) was a Pakistani film actress. She started her career in the film industry in British India and later moved to Pakistan. She was known as ''The Tragedy Queen'' after she proved her mettle in her emotional, tragic roles, her presence on the film screen and her moving dialogue delivery. She worked both in Bollywood and in Pakistani cinema. Early life Swaran Lata was born into a Siyal Khatri Sikh family in Rawalpindi, British India, now in Pakistan on 20 December 1924. She did her Senior Cambridge diploma from Delhi and then joined the Academy of Music and Arts, Lucknow. In the early 1940s, her family moved to Bombay. She acted in a total of 22 movies in British India from 1942 to 1948. Swaran Lata later converted to Islam after she married Nazir Ahmed, a famous actor, director and producer at the time. Swaran Lata (born 19 November 1938), or Swaranlata () is a former Punjabi singer of Indian Punjab. She is known for her songs like ''Lai De Maye Kaalean Baagan Di Mehndi'', ''Munh Vich Bhabi De, Nand Burkiaan Pave''. She sang almost every Punjabi singer of her time, including Harcharan Garewal, Karamjit Dhuri, Karnail Gill, Muhammad Sadiq, Didar Sandhu, Gurcharan Pohli, Ramesh Rangila, Jagat Singh Jagga, Daleep Singh Deep and Mahendra Kapoor Mahendra Kapoor (9 January 1934 – 27 September 2008) was an Indian playback singer. In a long career spanning decades, his repertoire included popular songs such as ''Chalo ekbaar phir se Ajnabi ban jayen hum dono'' ( Gumrah) and ''Neele Gagan .... Dr Ajit Swaran Singh is a Fijian-born-Indian-New Zealand judge who is appointed to the District Court Bench in New Zealand when he was sworn in as a judge in Manukau on 4 November 2002. Sardar Swaran Singh (19 August 1907 – 30 October 1994) was an Indian politician. He was India's second longest-serving union cabinet minister after Jagjivan Ram. Early life Swaran Singh Purewal was born on 19 August 1907 in Shankar (village) in Jalandhar district of Punjab. He was born in Jat (Sikh) family. He completed his intermediate (high school) at Randhir College in Kapurthala. He then joined Government College, Lahore and completed a degree in physics with honors. He then worked as a lecturer in physics in Lyallpur Khalsa College. After leaving this job he studied law in Government law college in Lahore and received his L.L.B in 1932. He started a law practice near his birth village in the nearby town of Jallandhar, specialising in criminal law.
