Svetislav Vukmirica
Svetislav Vukmirica ( sr-cyr, Светислав Вукмирица; born 24 December 1972) is a politician in Serbia. He served in the National Assembly of Serbia from 2014 to 2016 as a member of the Serbian Progressive Party. Early life and career Vukmirica was born in Kikinda, Vojvodina, in what was then the Socialist Republic of Serbia in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He is a graduate of the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law and subsequently worked in Kikinda as a teacher and trainee prosecutor. He has practiced judo at a competitive level and has led both the Kikinda Judo Club "Partizan" and the International Judo Camp in the city. In 2017, he was appointed to the complaints commission of the Sports Association of Vojvodina. New Serbia (political Party)
New Serbia (, NS) is a right-wing political party in Serbia. It was established in 1998 by a group of dissidents led by Velimir Ilić from the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO). History After leaving SPO, Velimir Ilić became a member of SPO-Together. New Serbia was part of the Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS) bloc which defeated Slobodan Milošević in the 2000 presidential election. Tomislav Nikolić
Tomislav Nikolić ( sr-Cyrl, Томислав Николић, ; born 15 February 1952) is a Serbian former politician who served as the president of Serbia from 2012 to 2017. A former member of the far-right Serbian Radical Party (SRS), he disassociated himself from the party in 2008 and formed the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) which he led until 2012. Born in Bajčetina, a village near Kragujevac, Nikolić was a long-time member of parliament for SRS. Nenad Čanak ( sr-Cyrl, Ненад Чанак, ; born 2 November 1959) is a Serbian politician. He is the co-founder and former leader of the centre-left League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina. He was the President of the Assembly of Vojvodina from 2000 to 2004, and until 2020 he was a member of the National Assembly of Serbia. 2016 Serbian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Serbia on 24 April 2016. Initially, the election were originally due to be held by March 2018, but on 17 January 2016 Prime Minister of Serbia, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić called for a snap election claiming Serbia "needs four more years of stability so that it is ready to Accession of Serbia to the European Union, join the European Union". 2014 Serbian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Serbia on 16 March 2014, with nineteen electoral lists competing for 250 members of the National Assembly. The election was called early, after tensions in the coalition led by the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS). President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić scheduled the election at the same time as the previously announced Belgrade City Assembly election. Voter turnout was 53.09%, with 3.22% of votes invalid.
