Old Norse
Old Norse, also referred to as Old Nordic or Old Scandinavian, was a stage of development of North Germanic languages, North Germanic dialects before their final divergence into separate Nordic languages. Sverre Seeberg
Sverre Knutsønn Seeberg (born 3 December 1950) is a Norwegian sports official. He was an active dog sled racer, being national champion in the sport. He served as president of the Norwegian Sled Dog Racing Association, co-founded the European Sled Dog Racing Association and in 1986 became an honorary member of his local club Holmenkollen Hundekjørerklubb. From 1983 to 1988 he was the secretary-general of the Norwegian Ski Federation. In skiing, he represents the club IL Heming. Seeberg became president of the Norwegian Ski Federation in 2002 upon Jan Jensen's death, and in 2004 he also became a board member of the International Ski Federation. In 2011 he was rumored to be a candidate as president of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports, but it did not go through. He stepped down from the Norwegian Ski Federation in 2012. Johan Sverre (sports Official)
Johan Tidemann Sverre (7 October 1867 – 6 June 1934) was a Norwegian military officer and sports official. Personal life He was born in Fredrikstad as a son of Erik Olsen (1831–1918) and Josefine Andrea Nicolaysen (1839–1899), and brother of Ole Sverre. He changed his last name from Olsen to Sverre in May 1892. In September 1893 in Fredrikstad he married Elna Jacobsen (1870–1958), a daughter of Julius Nicolai Jacobsen. The marriage lasted until January 1917. In February 1919 in Paris he married Gudny Thaulow, formerly married Bonnevie. Career He lived in Fredrikstad until 1887, when he moved to Kristiania to attend Aars og Voss School. He took the examen artium there in 1888, then graduated from the Norwegian Military Academy in 1891 and the Norwegian Military College in 1894. Johan Sverre (25 February 1923 – 27 November 1990) was a Norwegian actor. He was born in Kristiania. He originally took an architect's education in Copenhagen, but made his stage debut as an actor in 1951. Sverrir Hermannsson (26 February 1930 – 12 March 2018) was an Icelandic politician, businessman, and banker. Early life Sverrir was born in the Svalbarði farm in Ögurvík, Ísafjarðardjúp, on 26 February 1930, to Hermann Hermannsson and Salóme Rannveig Gunnarsdóttir. He graduated from a high school in Akureyri in 1951 and earned a business degree from the University of Iceland in 1955. Career Beginning in politics as a member of the Independence Party, he was Speaker of the lower chamber of Althing from 1979 to 1983. Sverrir Garðarsson (born 15 September 1984) is an Icelandic footballer, currently playing for Fylkir in the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild. Sverrir has previously played in Norway for Molde FK and in Sweden for GIF Sundsvall. Club career Sverrir started his career with local club FH before moving abroad to Molde FK. He later returned to FH and played two full seasons with the club before injuring himself, being out for two seasons. He returned for the 2007 season, moving abroad to play with GIF Sundsvall after the season. He returned again to FH in 2009 and played 8 games. Sverri Patursson (1871–1960) was a Faroese writer, author, and journalist. He was also a translator, ornithologist and environmentalist. Sverri Sandberg Nielsen (born 14 October 1993) is a Faroese rower who competes for Danske Studenters Roklub and Denmark in the heavyweight single sculls. He also competes in indoor rowing and has set a new Danish record three years in a row, 2015, 2016 and 2017 and again in 2019 and 2020. In 2019 he won silver medal at the World Rowing Championships. Sverre Stenersen
Sverre Stenersen (18 June 1926 – 17 December 2005) was a Norwegian Nordic combined skier who dominated the event throughout the 1950s. His biggest triumphs were winning individual gold medals at the 1954 World Championships and 1956 Olympics. He also won a bronze at the 1952 Olympics and a silver at the 1958 World Championships. Stenersen won the Nordic combined event at the national championships in 1954–58 and at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1955, 1956 and 1959.
