Sven Jaschan
Sven Jaschan (born 29 April 1986) is a former black-hat, black-hat hacker turned white-hat and a security expert/consultant and creator of the Netsky (computer worm), NetSky worms, and Sasser (computer worm), Sasser computer worms. History Jaschan lived in the village of Waffensen, Germany, and attended a computer science school in nearby Rotenburg an der Wümme, Rotenburg. He was a shy and quiet person. He admitted to writing and releasing the two damaging worms when arrested by German police on 7 May 2004 after a three-month-long international investigation. Following his arrest, Microsoft confirmed that they had received tip-offs from more than one source, and that the $250,000 reward for identifying the author of the NetSky worm would be shared between them. A black hat (black hat hacker or blackhat) is a computer security hacker, hacker who violates laws or ethical standards for nefarious purposes, such as cybercrime, cyberwarfare, or malice. Bagle (computer Worm)
Bagle (also known as Beagle) was a mass-mailing computer worm affecting Microsoft Windows. The first strain, Bagle.A, did not propagate widely. A second variant, Bagle.B, was considerably more virulent. Overview Bagle used its own SMTP engine to mass-mail itself as an attachment to recipients gathered from the infected computer by combing through all of the computer's .htm, .html, .txt, and .wab files for any email addresses. It does not mail itself to addresses containing certain strings such as "@hotmail.com", "@msn.com", "@microsoft", "@avp", or “.r1”. Bagle pretends to be a different file type (a 15,872 byte Windows Calculator for Bagle.A and an 11,264 byte audio file for Bagle.B), with a randomized name, and it will then open that file type as a cover for opening its own .exe file. Mydoom
Mydoom was a computer worm that targeted computers running Microsoft Windows. It was first sighted on January 26, 2004. It became the fastest-spreading e-mail worm ever, exceeding previous records set by the Sobig worm and ILOVEYOU, a record which as of 2025 has yet to be surpassed. Mydoom appears to have been commissioned by e-mail spammers to send junk e-mail through infected computers. The worm contains the text message ''"Andy; I'm just doing my job, nothing personal, sorry,"'' leading many to believe that the worm's creator was paid. Early on, several security firms expressed their belief that the worm originated from a programmer in Russia. The actual author of the worm is unknown. The worm appeared to be a poorly sent e-mail, and most people who originally were e-mailed the worm ignored it, thinking it was spam. A white hat (or a white-hat hacker, a whitehat) is an ethical security hacker. Ethical hacking is a term meant to imply a broader category than just penetration testing. Under the owner's consent, white-hat hackers aim to identify any vulnerabilities or security issues the current system has. The white hat is contrasted with the black hat, a malicious hacker; this definitional dichotomy comes from Western films, where heroic and antagonistic cowboys might traditionally wear a white and a black hat, respectively.
