Sven Erik Ragnar
Sven Erik Ragnar of Alingsås, Sweden (1937 - October 19, 2007) Sven Erik was 1963 employed by the Skandinaviska Banken in Stockholm. Sven Erik was later CEO of Götabanken and after that CEO of Reinholds AB. Sven Erik had a keen interest in Scouting and served as the secretary/treasurer of the Helenelund Scout Center Foundation, as well as chairman, treasurer and member of the board of the World Scout Foundation. In 1993, Ragnar was awarded the 231st ''Bronze Wolf'', the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, awarded by the World Scout Committee for exceptional services to world Scouting. During the World Scout Conference in Tunisia in 2005, Sven Erik was awarded the Silver Wolf Award (Scouterna), Silver Wolf, Sweden's highest Scout award. Skandinaviska Banken, literally the ''Scandinavian Bank'', was a Swedish bank founded in Gothenburg, 1864. Its foundation coincided with the political aspirations of the Scandinavian movement, which sought to unite Sweden, Norway and Denmark into a single kingdom. Even if these aspirations came to naught, there was a Scandinavian Monetary Union, with a common currency, and a union between Sweden and Norway, that the bank potentially would be able to exploit. The bank was founded as Skandinaviska Kreditaktiebolaget, which roughly translates to "Scandinavian Credit Ltd.". The World Scout Foundation (WSF) is an international, non-profit institution based in Geneva, Switzerland. Bronze Wolf
The Bronze Wolf Award is bestowed by the World Scout Committee (WSC) to acknowledge "outstanding service by an individual to the World Scout Movement". It is the highest honor that can be given a volunteer Scout leader in the world and it is the only award given by the WSC. Since the award's creation in 1935, fewer than 400 of the several millions of Scouts throughout the world have received the award. History Scouting's founder, Robert Baden-Powell, initially recognized outstanding contributions to Scouting by any Scout with the bestowal of the Silver Wolf, but although he was Chief Scout of the World, the Silver Wolf was associated with British Scouting. World Organization Of The Scout Movement
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM ) is the largest international Scouting organization. WOSM has 173 members. These members are recognized national Scout organizations, which collectively have around 43 million participants. WOSM was established in 1922, and has its operational headquarters at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and its legal seat in Geneva, Switzerland. It is the counterpart of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). The WOSM's current stated mission is "to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Scout Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society". Silver Wolf Award (Scouterna)
The Silver Wolf (Swedish language, Swedish: Silvervargen) is the highest award made by Swedish Scouting, to active leaders at the national level for exceptionally meritorious work. The award consists of a stylized silver wolf with a Fleur-de-lis in Scouting, fleur-de-lis with the words "Scouterna", suspended from a turquoise neck ribbon. The Silver Wolf will be distributed by someone who already holds the award. The Silver Wolf was established in 1920 for extraordinary contributions to Scouting. The original badge also meant that apart from being first-class, the Scout also passed tests for first aid and another 15 specific merit badges. When the 1935 World Scout Conference decided that each country would have a Silver Wolf as the highest award at the national level, Sweden chose to continue with the Silver Wolf but then changed so that the Svenska Scoutunionen (Swedish Scout Union) distributed it.
