Suzuyo Shimizu FC Lovely Ladies
was a women's football team which played in Division 1 of Japan's L. League, Nadeshiko League. It was one of the founding clubs in the league when it was created in 1989. The club was disbanded in 1999. Founding The Suzuyo Shimizu FC Lovely Ladies team was a new team created specifically for the new Japan Women’s Football League competition, mostly using the best players from the previous Shimizudaihachi Pleiades, Shimizudaihachi SC team, which had been dominant in the Shizuoka League, winning 7 consecutive titles between 1980 and 1986, but which was unable to afford to participate in the new completion. The players chosen to move to the new team were forward Etsuko Handa, midfielders Chiaki Yamada and Futaba Kioka, and defender Sayuri Yamaguchi. Etsuko Handa
is a Japanese former professional footballer. She was also a member of the Japan national team. Club career Handa was born in Shizuoka on 10 May 1965. She played for her local club Shimizudaihachi SC and Suzuyo Shimizu FC Lovely Ladies (formerly ''Shimizu FC Ladies''). In 1989, Handa helped Shimizu FC Ladies win the L.League in its inaugural season, while also earning the Best player award. During the 1993 season, she scored 14 goals and was the league's top scorer. She was selected Best Eleven four times (1989, 1990, 1993, 1994). National team career In June 1981, when Handa was 16 years old, she was selected to the Japan national team for the 1981 AFC Championship. Chiaki Yamada
is a former Japanese football player. She played for the Japan national team. Club career Yamada was born in Shizuoka on August 2, 1966. She played for her local club Shimizudaihachi SC in the Shizuoka League where teams she belonged to won the championship in seven consecutive years from1980-1986, and for the Suzuyo Shimizu FC Lovely Ladies, in the Japan Women’s Football League where she belonged to the team which won the inaugural title in 1989. Futaba Kioka
is a former Japanese football player. She played for Japan national team. Club career Kioka was born in Shizuoka Prefecture on 22 November 1965. She played for her local club Shimizudaihachi SC until 1988. In 1989, she moved to Shimizu FC Ladies (later ''Suzuyo Shimizu FC Lovely Ladies''). Chou Tai-ying (; born 16 August 1963) is a Taiwanese female association football coach and former player. She is considered the most successful Taiwanese footballer so far. Empress's Cup
, since 2018 renamed "Empress's Cup JFA Japan Women's Football Championship" () or The JFA Empress's Cup (from 2024 onwards), is a Japanese Women's football competition. As an elimination tournament, it can be considered the female counterpart to the men's Emperor's Cup in Japan. The name "Empress's Cup" has been used since the 2012 season as the Empress's Cup trophy was founded in that year. Anneli Andelén
Anneli Andelén (born 21 June 1968) is a Swedish former association football forward who won 88 caps for the Sweden women's national football team, scoring 37 goals. Nathalie Geeris (born 20 December 1971) is a Dutch retired football midfielder or forward. She played for clubs in the Netherlands, Japan, the United States and Sweden, as well as for the Netherlands women's national football team.
