Suzanne Voute
Suzanne Voute (12 March 1922 – 3 December 2001) was a militant Left Communist active in France from the 1940s. She became a member of the team, alongside Maximilien Rubel and Michel Jacob who translated much of the work of Karl Marx into French for Gallimard. Early life She was born in Poitiers, Vienne to Jean-Marie Voute and Madeleine Berthelot in 1922. After spending some of her childhood in Haute-Marne, she attended Collège de Tournon, Tournon-sur-Rhône where studied chemistry and physics. In 1942 she played a key role in organising the International Communist Left in Marseilles. However she soon came into conflict with Robert Salama and Marc Chirik. She worked with Ottorino Perrone writing the ''Appeal to all revolutionary militants'' which appeared in May 1945 and which led to the foundation of the Fraction Française de la Gauche Communiste Internationale (FFGCI) which also included a number of Italian refugees based in France. Poitiers is a city on the river Clain in west-central France. Onorato Damen
Onorato Damen (4 December 1893 – 14 October 1979), was an Italian left communist revolutionary who was first active in the Italian Socialist Party and then the Communist Party of Italy. After being expelled, he worked with the organized Italian left, became one of the leaders of the Internationalist Communist Party, commonly known by their paper ''Battaglia Comunista''. The Internationalist Communist Party, formally founded in 1943, was numerically the largest left communist organization in the post-World War II period. In 1952, Amadeo Bordiga, who had by then fully come out of retirement, split the party to found the International Communist Party, known by its paper ''Programma Comunista''. A majority followed Damen, whose group maintained the original name Internationalist Communist Party, the original theoretical journal ''Prometeo'', as well as the paper ''Battaglia Communista''. The Internationalist Communist Party (, PCInt) is a left communist party in Italy and an affiliate of the Internationalist Communist Tendency, formerly the International Bureau for the Revolutionary Party. Overview The origins of the party can be traced back to the Left Fraction which, between 1921-6, held a majority within the Communist Party of Italy. Marc Chirik
Marck Chirik (May 13, 1907 – December 20, 1990), also known as Marc Laverne or simply MC, was a communist revolutionary and one of the founding militants of the International Communist Current. Life Chirik was born into the family of a rabbi. He had witnessed the October Revolution with his brother at the age of ten. His family moved to Palestine where he became an early member of the Communist Party of Palestine's youth organization in 1922 but was later expelled because he disagreed with the positions of the Communist International on the national question, which supported the Arab national movements. He emigrated to France, where he joined the French Communist Party before being expelled at the same time as the members of the Left Opposition.
