The Suwon Samsung Bluewings () are a South Korean Association football, football club based in Suwon that competes in the K League 2, the second tier of South Korean football. Founded in December 1995, they have won the K League on four occasions (1998 K League, 1998, 1999 K League, 1999, 2004 K League, 2004 and 2008 K League, 2008), as well as the Asian Club Championship twice, in 2000–01 Asian Club Championship, 2000–01 and 2001–02 Asian Club Championship, 2001–02. The K League Championship was the final competition (playoffs) of the K League season. The K League originally had playoffs after regular seasons, but the name of playoffs was officially decided in 2009. This competition was abolished in 2011. All K League Championship records from 1984 to 1996 are not included in the current K League official statistics. Cha Bum-kun (; or ; born 22 May 1953) is a South Korean former football manager and player. A forward, he was nicknamed Tscha Bum or "Cha Boom" in Germany because of his name and thunderous ball striking ability. He showed explosive pace and powerful shots with his thick thighs.
