Sutton-Ditz House
Sutton-Ditz House is a historic home and museum located in Clarion, Clarion County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1847, and remodeled in 1909–1910. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. Architecture The house is a -story, brick Classical Revival style building on a sandstone foundation. It was originally built in the Greek Revival style. The front facade features a full -story, pedimented portico supported by Ionic order columns which was added during the 1909 remodeling. The exterior surface of polychrome Flemish bond brick was also added at this time. Immediately north of the house is Memorial Park - formerly known as the Public Square, which has a Civil War monument and a modern gazebo. Immediately north of the park is the Clarion County Courthouse. Most buildings in the neighborhood were originally residences, but have been converted to commercial uses. Clarion, Pennsylvania
Clarion is a borough in and the county seat of Clarion County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located north-northeast of Pittsburgh and is part of the Pittsburgh DMA. Clarion was settled in 1839 and incorporated in 1841. In the past, the surrounding area produced natural gas, oil, lumber and coal. The population was 2,004 in 2000, 2,864 in 2010, and 3,931 at the 2020 census, down from 5,276 at the 2010 census. It is home to the annual Autumn Leaf Festival and PennWest Clarion.
