Sustainment Command (Expeditionary)
The Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), commonly referred to as an "ESC", is a United States Army logistics headquarters. Sustainment is "the provision of logistics, Finance Corps, financial management, United States Army Adjutant General's Corps, personnel services, and health service support necessary to maintain operations until successful mission completion." The Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), commanded by a Brigadier General, is task-organized with one or more Sustainment Brigades in the United States Army, Sustainment Brigades, Transportation Brigades, and/or Movement Control Battalion's for theater opening, theater distribution, or theater closing operations. It commands and controls all assigned and attached units as directed by the Theater Sustainment Command, Sustainment Command (Theater). Finance Corps
The United States Army Finance Corps is a combat service support (CSS) branch of the United States Army. The Finance Corps traces its foundation to 16 June 1775, when the Second Continental Congress established the office of Paymaster-General of the United States Army, Paymaster General of the Army. The 143rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary)(formerly: 143rd Transportation Command), is one of seven general officer sustainment commands in the United States Army Reserve. The 135th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) (ESC) is an independent major command (MACOM) of the Alabama Army National Guard, and until 2014 was a subordinate unit of the 167th Theater Sustainment Command.
