Sussex Community NHS Trust
Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is a community health trust established as a result of the Transforming Community Services programme. It is the main provider of NHS community health services across West Sussex Brighton and Hove and has an annual budget of £185m. It became an NHS foundation trust in March 2016. Siobhan Melia, has a clinical background having worked as a podiatrist, before moving into senior clinical leadership and managerial roles within the NHS. Siobhan was appointed as the new chief executive of the trust in October 2016 taking over from Paula Head, who was chief executive since January 2013. The trust claims to be the first NHS organisation in Sussex to have achieved accreditation as a ‘Living Wage Employer’, paying its staff a minimum of £7.45 per hour. Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital is a health facility in Shripney Road, Bognor Regis, West Sussex, England. It is managed by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust. Midhurst
Midhurst () is a market town, parish and civil parish in West Sussex, England. It lies on the River Rother inland from the English Channel, and north of the county town of Chichester. The name Midhurst was first recorded in 1186 as ''Middeherst'', meaning "Middle wooded hill", or "(place) among the wooded hills". It derives from the Old English words ''midd'' (adjective) or ''mid'' (preposition), meaning "in the middle", plus ''hyrst'', "a wooded hill". The Norman St. Ann's Castle dates from about 1120, although the foundations are all that can now be seen. The castle, the parish church of St. Mary Magdalene and St. Denis, together with South Pond, the former fish-pond for the castle, are the only three structures left from this early period. Healthcare in Sussex was the responsibility of seven Clinical Commissioning Groups covering: Brighton and Hove; Coastal West Sussex; Horsham and Mid Sussex; Crawley; Eastbourne Hailsham and Seaford; Hastings and Rother; High Weald; and Lewes-Havens from 2013 to 2020. Clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) were NHS organisations set up by the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to organise the delivery of NHS services in each of their local areas in England. On 1 July 2022 they were abolished and replaced by Integrated care systems as a result of the Health and Care Act 2022. Establishment The announcement that GPs would take over this commissioning role was made in the 2010 white paper "Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS". This was part of the government's stated desire to create a clinically-driven commissioning system that was more sensitive to the needs of patients. The Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health and learning disability services to the people of Brighton & Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex. Brighton And Hove Integrated Care Service
Brighton and Hove Integrated Care Service is a not-for-profit social enterprise and GP Federation based in Brighton. The service commissioned Age UK and Brighton and Hove Impetus in 2014 to recruit 60 volunteers to work in GP surgeries to ease the pressure in their surgeries and keep people out of hospital. The project – known as EPIC (Extended Primary Integrated Care) – also uses nurses and pharmacists to deal with minor ailments and medicine reviews. The organisation won a contract for dermatology services from Brighton and Hove Clinical Commissioning Group - a service which they had been providing since 2010 but had to withdraw when it could not reach agreement with its proposed subcontractors. Littlehampton is a town, seaside resort, and pleasure harbour, and the most populous civil parish in the Arun District of West Sussex, England. Brighton General Hospital is an acute general hospital on Elm Grove in Brighton, East Sussex. It is managed by Sussex Community NHS Trust. The main Arundel building is a Grade II listed building.
