Susan Stone (athlete)
Susan K. Stone (b. Aug. 29, 1960) is a former Canadians, Canadian athlete who competed in middle and long distance races. She became the Canadian National Champion in the 10K run, 10K in 1988 after only beginning to run in 1983. Stone became a prominent runner along with international competitors Zhong Huandi, Marguerite Buist, Ellen Rochefort, Sissel Grottenberg, and Odette Lapierre. She was ninth at the 1988 Boston Marathon, 7th at the 1986 Osaka Women's Marathon (in Japan), 13th at the 1987 London Marathon, 13th at the 1986 New York City Marathon and 13th at the 1985 Chicago Marathon. Toronto Marathon
The Toronto Marathon, held annually on the first Sunday of May, is a race from Yonge and Sheppard, in the north end of Toronto, to Exhibition Place, via Humber Bay Park. The origins of the event trace back to 1977, and the race was initially called the Canadian International Marathon. In 2003, its name was changed to the Toronto Marathon. It was held previously on the third Sunday in October, the first Sunday after Canadian Thanksgiving, for 16 consecutive years. Because of concerns that another event was being held three weeks prior and led to too many road closures, as well as pressure from a major financial institution, the Toronto Marathon was moved to the first Sunday of May in 2012. London Marathon
The London Marathon is an annual marathon held in London, United Kingdom, and is the 2nd largest annual road race in the UK, after the Great North Run in Newcastle. Founded by athletes Chris Brasher and John Disley in 1981, it is typically held in April but has moved to October for 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hamilton is a port city in the Canadian province of Ontario.
