Susan Randi Wessler (born 1953, in New York City), ForMemRS, is an American plant molecular biologist and geneticist. She is Distinguished Professor of Genetics at the University of California, Riverside (UCR). Education Wessler graduated from the Bronx High School of Science in 1970."Susan R. Retrotransposons (also called Class I transposable elements or transposons via RNA intermediates) are a type of genetic component that copy and paste themselves into different genomic locations ( transposon) by converting RNA back into DNA through the reverse transcription process using an RNA transposition intermediate. An intron is any nucleotide sequence within a gene that is not expressed or operative in the final RNA product.
