Susan Packard Orr
Susan Packard Orr is an American philanthropist and the former chair of the Board of Directors of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. In addition to the Packard Foundation, she is a current or previous board member of several prominent nonprofit organizations including Stanford University and the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. She also served on the Hewlett-Packard board for 7 years (1993–2001), leaving shortly before the Compaq merger. Orr currently is founder and CEO of Telosa Software. She holds Economics and MBA degrees from Stanford, and a master's degree in computer science from New Mexico Tech. Personal Orr is the daughter of David Packard and Lucile Salter Packard. Like both of them, she attended Stanford University, where she graduated with a BA in economics (1968) and an MBA (1970). David And Lucile Packard Foundation
The David and Lucile Packard Foundation is a private foundation that provides grants to not-for-profit organizations. It was created in 1964 by David Packard (co-founder of HP) and his wife Lucile Salter Packard. Following David Packard's death in 1996, the Foundation became the beneficiary of part of his estate. The foundation's goals, through the use of grants, are to "improve the lives of children, enable creative pursuit of science, advance reproductive health, and conserve and restore earth's natural systems." As of 2016, The David and Lucile Packard Foundation was the 20th wealthiest foundation in the United States. Audubon Society
The National Audubon Society (Audubon; ) is an American non-profit environmental organization dedicated to conservation of birds and their habitats. Located in the United States and incorporated in 1905, Audubon is one of the oldest of such organizations in the world. There are completely independent Audubon Societies in the United States, which were founded several years earlier such as the Massachusetts Audubon Society, Indiana Audubon Society, and Connecticut Audubon Society. The societies are named for 19th century naturalist John James Audubon. The society has nearly 500 local chapters, each of which is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization voluntarily affiliated with the National Audubon Society.
