Susan Alberti
Susan Marie "Sue" Alberti (born 18 May 1947) is an Australian businesswoman, philanthropist and former Vice President of the Western Bulldogs Football Club. Life and career Alberti was born in 1947 in Bairnsdale, Victoria, Australia. Her family moved to Ashwood in Melbourne and she attended Siena College in nearby Camberwell for high school. She is the co-founder and managing director of the DANSU Group based in Wheelers Hill in Melbourne's east. Approximately forty years ago, Alberti and her late husband Angelo established the company as an industrial and commercial builder and developer of industrial estates and business parks. DANSU Group successfully completed substantial commercial, industrial and property development projects, especially in Melbourne's south eastern suburbs, including Hallam, Dandenong, and surrounds. Bairnsdale () ( Ganai: ''Wy-yung'') is a city in East Gippsland, Victoria, Australia in a region traditionally owned by the Tatungalung clan of the Gunaikurnai people. The estimated population of Bairnsdale urban area was 15,411 at June 2018. Estimated resident population, 30 June 2018. The city is a major regional centre of eastern Victoria along with Traralgon and Sale and the commercial centre for the East Gippsland region and the seat of local government for the Shire of East Gippsland. The Order of Australia is the only Australian order of chivalry. It was established on 14 February 1975 by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia, to recognise Australian citizens and other persons for achievement, meritorious service, or for both. At that time, Companion of the Order of Australia was the highest of three grades of the Order (Companion, Officer, Member). On 24 May 1976, the grade of Knight or Dame of the Order was established, displacing Companion as the highest grade. On 3 June 1986, the Knight/Dame grade was abolished, and Companion was once again the highest grade. Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) was opened in 1981. AIS Sports Star of the Year (later named AIS Athlete of the Year) was first established in 1983/84 with the first winner being swimmer Karen Phillips. In 1995, AIS Junior Athlete of the Year was established. Other major awards include AIS Team of The Year, AIS Coach of the Year and AIS Program of the Year.
