Supernature (Cerrone III)
''Supernature'' is Cerrone's third album, released in September 1977. It was released in France by Malligator Label. It is known also as ''Cerrone III'', since it is the third album by Cerrone, who labeled his albums with a number. Track listing ''Note: these times apply to the digital edition, vinyl and the CD timings have different values''. Notes It has also been released in CD format in Europe and the US. In the inner sleeve, disco producer Don Ray, co-writer Alain Wisniak and singer Lene Lovich are thanked “for their kindness, talent & comprehension”. "Supernature" is one of Cerrone's best-known tracks. It was remixed in 1996 by Danny Tenaglia into his traditional deep progressive Twilo sound. Marc Cerrone Daryl Easlea, "Supernature Boy", ''Record Collector'', #502, February 2020, pp.60-63 (, ; born 24 May 1952) is a French disco drummer, composer, record producer and creator of concert shows. Cerrone is a producer of 1970s and 1980s disco songs. He has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, including over four million copies in France, and eight million copies of '' Supernature''. The single "Love in C Minor" (1976) reached No. 3 and was in the charts for two months, selling three million copies. With " Supernature" (1977), Cerrone merged symphonic orchestration with synthesizers. At the 1978 Billboard Disco Forum, Cerrone received six awards including Disco Artist of the Year. Africanism All Stars is a France based project that was launched in 2001, consisting of DJs and mixers in France, who collaborate with African-based artists and acts. Twilo
Twilo was an American nightclub in operation from 1995 to 2001 in New York City and from 2006 to 2007 in Miami. The New York location at 530 West 27th Street in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan regularly attracted a crowd of thousands to its warehouse-like dance floor. Playing host to dozens of DJs from around the world, the club was important in popularizing international styles of house and trance music within the United States. Lene Lovich
Lene Lovich (; born Lili-Marlene Premilovich; March 30, 1949) is an English-American singer, songwriter and musician. She first gained attention in 1979 with the release of her hit single " Lucky Number", which peaked at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart and made her a leading figure of the new wave music scene. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Lovich moved to England at the age of 13, where she met guitarist and songwriter Les Chappell, who later became her long-time music collaborator and life partner. She developed an interest in art and theater, enrolling at the Central School of Art and Design where she took saxophone lessons. In 1975, she joined the band the Diversions and shortly afterwards wrote the lyrics to Cerrone's single " Supernature". Raymond Donnez
Raymond Donnez (September 9, 1942 – March 7, 2019), or Don Ray, was a French disco producer, arranger and performer. Early life A cult hero among fans of Eurodisco, Don Ray played keyboards on Cerrone's records "Love in C Minor", "IV", "VI", and "VIII" and released one solo album, ''Garden of Love'', which featured his successful single "Got to Have Loving", cowritten with Cerrone, who drummed on the track. He also produced Santa Esmeralda's hit cover of " Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" and their third LP, " House of the Rising Sun". His single "Got To Have Loving" had cross-over success on pop radio, and reached #44 in the Billboard Hot 100 in October 1978. Trident Studios was a British recording facility, located at 17 St Anne's Court in London's Soho district between 1968 and 1981.
